All modern TVs are equipped with a DVB-C tuner. This lets you receive digital television. The CI module is a small card slot for the smart card of your selected provider. This way, you don't need a separate decoder anymore and you can zap between channels with the original TV remote. If you want to buy a CI+ module, first check if your TV is certified by the cable company.
