High thanks to an ultra high

  • Ultra high instead of wide
  • Use as one screen or as two virtual screens
  • Built-in USB hub
  • 'Main' screen always at the top

What a relief for those big comparative Excels at my work!
This screen has too many pluses for the list at the top. Why is this screen rarely bought or reviewed? This screen is one of the few that offers so much vertical space, useful for almost any professional use: data processing (super large Excels!), coding, writing and reviewing documents (full A4 and more), video editing, photo editing, CAD, social media and browsing/scrolling,... Everything just fits on this screen with the taskbars and all, plus P3 color depth. The screen installs easily on the included ergonomically adjustable arm that attaches to the back of the desk. The arm has a built-in cable duct and also a compartment for the supplied key that regulates the resistance of the arm. You can connect your PC via an included USB-C cable that also supplies the PC with power and gives access to the USB-A ports at the back for mouse and keyboard. But you can also connect two HDMI cables (one included) and a displayport. Killer feature: The screen allows itself to be virtually divided in two as two UHD screens above each other to show two inputs: two different PCs above each other, or the same PC with two screens. A shortcut key can switch between the modes (one high screen or two UHDs). Note: this can confuse a PC. There is an additional output for a USB cable to connect to a second PC and thus also use the keyboard and mouse for that PC when that respective input is selected (configurable). Unfortunately, the latter only works for the input shown at the top. The disadvantage of this screen is that the arm cannot be placed that low, so that it is probably better used ergonomically at a standing desk.
The price of this screen is high compared to a single 4K screen, but you also get more: dual UHD IPS P3 screens, an ergonomic arm, USB-C dock and KVM switch in one. Add everything up and you quickly arrive at this price.
For viewing widescreen films and for games that require horizontal vision (racers, first-person shooters) you better go for -strangely more popular- ultrawide screens, otherwise you can really improve your (work) life with an 'ultrahigh'. In addition to this LG, there are also regular 16:10 screens on the market that offer slightly more vertical space, but that is not much extra vertically.

Strange monitor for a fantastic work experience!

  • Ergonomic arm
  • Dream for productive work
  • Almost as many pixels as a 4K screen
  • Not suitable for gaming and media consumption

I don't use the screen itself in the vertical orientation because I find it a bit too high, but with the ergonomic supplied arm the screen can be rotated 90 degrees. In this position it is perfect. It's a shame that more brands don't offer this format. An (almost) square screen is a dream for productive work! Very highly recommended!

Great size for working from home

  • Curved design, nice size for overview
  • Anti glare (no reflections)
  • Screen to rotate in all imaginable positions
  • mediocre speaker

I've had the LG Ergo 34WP88C monitor for a while now and wanted to share my experiences. It's quite an expensive monitor, so I hope to contribute to the right choice in this way.

I chose this monitor for its ergonomic properties. The name says it all, ERGO. The screen can rotate in all directions and is adjustable in height. We were looking for a monitor for the office that we could both use without any back problems, etc.

The box is bigger than I expected and quite heavy. Unpacking, on the other hand, went smoothly and it was put together in no time. My desk was not suitable, so some things had to be moved around the house, but the C-clamp is easy to tighten as long as you have a suitable table/desk. Then click the screen onto the arm and the LG ERGO is ready for use. We did this with the two of us, because the screen is quite heavy with this size. You can also neatly hide the cables in the arm, so that your workplace looks neat and professional.

Lately I have been able to do my work with this large screen full of enthusiasm. Normally I would have connected an extra screen to my laptop, but in this case I turn off the laptop screen and only use the ERGO. The format is perfect for opening multiple windows side by side.

I have to say that I do like the screen. I was not blown away by the quality. The screen is matte, so I'm not bothered by reflections from the window next to me. My husband also finds the quality disappointing. Not that it's bad, but it's OK. With a refresh rate of 60Hz, it is also not intended for gamers, but it is fine for working from home and that's what I've used it for lately. I have to deal with a lot of files and with such a large screen I keep an overview and I can quickly switch between different systems. I do have my slight doubts about the arm with such a great weight on it. It wobbles quite a bit if you rotate the screen, or if you accidentally touch it. Then it continues to wobble in the air, even if the C-clamp is tightened properly.

It is handy that this screen has different ports, such as a USB-C port with a lot of power, because this way I can directly connect my laptop or charge my phone, without having to look for an extra socket. There are also 3 USB ports to connect, for example, a Bluetooth headset or mouse. The screen has built-in speakers, but they are mediocre, it makes a difference that I wear a headset while working, so not an issue for me.

I am especially happy with the curved design because it looks nice with such a size. You can immediately see everything at a glance. I think it's a nice addition to our office and I admit that this has contributed considerably to more efficient working. So very satisfied with the ERGO. Would definitely recommend for the home workers among us.
