The entire base is made of die-cast aluminum I think. The plastic around the screen is sturdy and of high quality. It looks really nice on my desk. No bleeding in the corners and the screen has a high brightness, which is nice when the sun is shining. The monitor can be adjusted in height and also rotated, not completely but a little bit.
