The ZenScreen works fine as an extra screen with my laptop. For my work, I increasingly needed an extra screen on which a window remains continuously in view. However, I wanted something that I can easily store after use. A monitor with a tripod is a bit inconvenient. The ZenScreen fulfills this need. However, I read a comment that with this screen it is necessary to plug in an extra charger. The shock was there for me, the ZenScreen version without battery can be kept on via the laptop ... Fortunately, an extra charger turns out not to be necessary. Documentation from Asus was also unclear about this. So I will go into more detail below on the charging options of this ZenScreen Go: If I plug the screen into my laptop with the supplied USB-C cable or a Thunderbolt 3 cable (not supplied), a message appears. Here you can choose to charge the ZenScreen via the laptop. If you chose "Yes" for "Charging From NB/PC" then the following happens on my Mac: If I'm also charging my laptop, via an adapter, the ZenScreen is also charged. Useful. If my laptop is not connected to the power, the ZenScreen will not be charged, but will remain on. The ZenScreen then uses the battery of my Macbook and not its own battery. The default setting on ZenScreen appears to be "No" when it is turned on, as in "No Charging From NB/PC". It does not automatically switch to "grab that juice mode". Less convenient. This means that if the ZenScreen uses its own battery and goes to 0%, the screen will go out and not try to get the power from the laptop itself. This gives me certain feelings. So you have to keep an eye on this yourself... For this you have to press the button at the bottom left twice, then you can see the power level in the menu. I haven't seen any options to keep this information in view yet. Or an option to receive a timely notification that the battery is on the low side and action is needed... When the ZenScreen was initially turned on, the battery was apparently close to 0%. The screen went out pretty quickly. Luckily I got a message that the battery is exactly 0%. Not a good start. I continued working after that and did not disconnect the ZenScreen. Which is nice, even if the screen has fallen out, the ZenScreen is still charged afterwards. My Macbook Pro was connected to the power. So apparently when the screen is off the default mode is "Yes to power". Furthermore, brightness is slightly higher than indicated on Coolblue. It is 250 cd/m2 according to Asus website instead of 220 cd/m2 on Coolblue. The brightness and colors are a bit duller against my Macbook screen. This was expected and acceptable. The image of the ZenScreen looks calmer than expected. On their website they talk about "ASUS Flicker-free technology". I expected marketing nonsense, but I'm pleasantly surprised. The blue filter is fine. I often work a bit later, blue light reduction is practical for me. The build quality is decent. The screen and housing itself are quite sturdy. However, the silver-colored strip behind which the speaker is also wobbles and creaks. Especially the area around the Asus logo squeaks and creaks. Of course there was another sticker with all kinds of non-information. Removing the sticker is particularly unpleasant if the device starts to crack. Good idea Asus. The case is sturdier and feels lighter than I expected. I had read before that this was not entirely pleasant and too heavy. So that was a stroke of luck. However, changing the viewing angle by tilting the screen is not possible. The magnets are in certain places. You have the options: oblique, vertical or flat like a pancake. The last mode is for pros.

Extremely handy to extend your screen, for example for your laptop. Easy to carry thanks to the magnetic cover that also ensures that you can place the screen in all kinds of ways. Menu is a bit difficult to operate, when the battery is almost empty, the screen goes into a kind of eco-dim mode and is then difficult to read. The (mini) HDMI connection also makes it suitable as a monitor for a (video) camera, for example.
