Get started with cleaning the milk system
In this video, we'll explain step by step how to thoroughly clean the milk system of your JURA D6. We'll go through the following steps:
- Step 1. Clean the milk system.
- Step 2. Rinse the milk system.
You need:
- JURA Milk System Cleaner (15ml per cleaning session)
- Pitcher or cup (500ml capacity)
- Container (500ml capacity)
How often should you clean?
Since milk residue builds up quickly and bacteria will grow soon after, you'll have to clean the milk system daily. That way, you won't get ill due to spoiled milk. The coffee machine automatically rinses the milk nozzle for milk foam with water after you've made a cappuccino, but that's not enough. Are you not going to use the coffee machine for some time? Thoroughly clean the milk system with the cleaning agent. If you don't prepare any milk specialties, you don't have to clean the milk system.
Step 1: clean the milk system
- Via the menu, go to 'Espresso'.
- Press and hold 'P' until you see 'Maintenance' and confirm by pressing the dial.
- After that, select 'M-rinse'.
- Place a container under the milk foam nozzle.
- Fill a pitcher with 250ml of water.
- Add 15mm of JURA milk system cleaner to the water.
- Put the milk tube in the pitcher.
- Press the left dial.
- Turn the right dial a quarter to the left to start the cleaning program.
- When the coffee machine indicates it, turn the right dial back so it stops rinsing.
Step 2: rinse the milk system
- Empty the container and the pitcher with the cleaning agent.
- Put the container back under the milk foam nozzle.
- Refill the pitcher with 250ml of water and put the milk tube back in the pitcher.
- Press the left dial.
- Turn the right dial a quarter to the left.
- When the coffee machine tells you to, turn the right dial back so it stops rinsing.
- Attach the milk tube to the milk system again.
- The coffee machine is ready for use.
