5 tips if your washer dryer combination isn't drying properly
Tips for dry laundry
With these tips, your laundry will be the driest when you take it out of the drum of your washer dryer combination:
- Tip 1. Don't put too much laundry in the drum.
- Tip 2. Only use the non-stop cycle for small loads.
- Tip 3. Spin your laundry at a high speed.
- Tip 4. Use the 'extra dry' setting.
- Tip 5. Keep your washer dryer combination clean.
Tip 1: stick to the maximum load capacity
If you want your laundry to be properly dry, you have to stick to the maximum load capacity. Keep in mind that a washer dryer combination has more room for washing than drying. For example, an 8/4kg machine is suitable for washing 8kg and drying 4kg. After washing a full load, you should remove half of the laundry and dry it on a rack. If you don't your laundry will still be wet after the dryer cycle. If you only wash a half-full drum, you can dry everything in one go. You should also keep in mind that the maximum load capacity differs per cycle. Check the manual to see how many kilograms of laundry you can dry for each cycle.
Tip 2: only use the non-stop cycle for a small load
Stick to the recommended load capacity for the non-stop cycle as well. This cycle washes and dries your laundry in a relatively short time, without stopping for you to remove laundry from the drum. That means there's even less room for laundry. In most washer dryer combinations, you can wash and dry no more than 1 or 2kg of laundry with the non-stop cycle. When you use this cycle, don't put more than 5 shirts in the drum at the same time if you want a clean and dry result.
Tip 3: spin your laundry at a high speed
For a dry result, you should spin your bedding at a high speed after the wash cycle. Some washer dryer combinations can reach 1400RPM, while other models go up to 1600RPM. Your laundry will be driest if you spin it with 1600RPM. After washing and spinning, you dry your laundry. Thanks to the high speed, your laundry will be drier when you take it out of the drum.
Tip 4: use the 'extra dry' setting
If you want to dry towels and bedding, choose the 'extra dry' option. With this setting, your laundry will emerge from the drum as dry as possible. Keep in mind that this setting increases the duration of the cycle. And don't forget to check the washing instructions on the label of your clothes or bedding. That way, you know if your laundry is suitable for an intense dryer cycle.
Tip 5: keep your washer dryer combination clean
A fresh washer dryer combination dries better than a machine that you never clean. So make sure to run the drum cleaning cycle once in a while. All the detergent residue will be rinsed away, which ensures that the sensors work better. Unlike a dryer, a washer dryer doesn't have a lint trap that you have to empty after every dryer cycle. Lint goes down the drain, which is why it's important to regularly clean the drain. Open the hatch on the front at the bottom. Remove the lint trap, clean it, and place it back in. Collect the dirt with a container.
