How do you choose a washer dryer combination for your laundry.
Choose cycle
When you choose a cycle on your washer dryer combination, keep a few things in mind:
- Do you only want to wash? Which type of laundry?
- Do you only want to dry? Which type of laundry?
- Do you want to wash and dry in one go?
- Do you want to wash quickly?

Cotton towels or T-shirts
For cotton laundry, like shirts, towels, and bedding, you use the cotton cycle. It depends on the type of cotton laundry which temperature you choose. You wash bedding and towels at 60°C or higher. At this temperature, you're sure they're hygienically clean. It's possible to wash cotton clothes at 40°C. This way, you shirts and pants last longer and they keep their color. You can fill the drum up to the maximum load capacity for a wash.
Synthetic tops or gym clothes
You can wash clothes made of synthetic fabrics like viscose, nylon, or polyester with a synthetic wash cycle. This cycle washes at a maximum of 60°C, and it uses a lower speed. This way, the appliance automatically washes your clothes more carefully than with the cotton cycle. Keep in mind that you can't was a full drum with this cycle. This cycle often only has room for half a drum load, so the appliance can thoroughly clean your gym clothes and synthetic tops.
Woolen sweaters or silk blouses
Woolen sweaters, silk blouses, and lingerie is delicate laundry. For these pieces of clothing, you use a special wash cycle for wool, silk, or underwear. Doesn't you appliance have this? Choose a hand wash or the delicate cycle. The appliance washes the laundry at a low temperature and at a lower speed. This way, you're sure the laundry looks good when it comes out of the drum. Keep in mind that you can only wash a few kilograms of laundry with these cycles.
Do you only want to dry? Which type of laundry?
Jeans, bedding, or towels
You can choose the cotton cycle to dry thicker fabric like jeans, bedding, and towels. Put the drying level on 'extra dry'. This way, your towels are really dry when you use them. You can dry bedding at a low temperature, so it doesn't shrink. Does your washer dryer combination have a steaming function? Use it during a dryer cycle to reduce creases. Make sure you don't put more laundry in the drum than the maximum drying capacity.
Cotton pants or shirts
You can also dry cotton pants or shirts with the cotton cycle. This is the cycle you use the most, in general. When your dry cotton clothes, you choose the 'cupboard dry' drying level. Because of the little moisture that stays in the clothes, they wear less fast. This way, you can enjoy your favorite outfit longer. You also save energy, because you dry less long. Stick to the maximum dryer capacity of your washer dryer combination for the best drying performance.
Delicate or synthetic clothes
You can dry synthetic clothes like gym clothes or polyester or fleece tops with the synthetic dryer cycle. It's best to dry woolen sweaters or silk clothing on a drying rack. To dry these in the appliance, you choose a special cycle for wool or silk. If the washer dryer combination doesn't have this, you also use the synthetic cycle for these clothes. This way, you dry at a lower temperature and your clothes last longer.
Do you want to wash and dry?
Do wash and dry in 1 go, you choose a non-stop cycle. You can set up this cycle yourself by choosing the wash and dryer cycle you want. Keep in mind that you don't put more laundry in the drum than the maximum drying capacity. Some washer dryer combinations also have a pre-set non-stop cycle. That's often a fast cycle for mixed fabrics, which can wash and dry 1kg of laundry in 1 hour.
Do you want to wash quickly?
To wash your clothes thoroughly and quickly, you can choose a full-fledged quick wash cycle. This cycle washes more intensively and quicker, so your clothes are clean in no time with the same washing quality. To quickly freshen up clothes, you can choose an extra short cycle of about 15 minutes. That allows you to take your favorite blouse from the drum in a quarter of an hour. Keep in mind that you can wash less dirty laundry in one go with these quick cycles.
