What's a PV distributor?
What is it?
A PV distributor is a small extra box that consists of a main switch, extra group, and socket. We also call this a solar power distribution box. This allows you to split an existing group into 2 separate groups, for example in the attic. This way, you can connect your inverter and your washing machine here. The power then goes through the group to which your washing machine is connected. This way, you don't need new cables or pipes from your fuse box to your washing machine.
The pros and cons of a PV distributor
- You don't have to upgrade your fuse box.
- You don't need extra cables or pipes from the inverter to the fuse box.
- You can easily place and install a PV distributor.
- The small size makes it easy to hide the PV distributor, for example in the attic.
- A PV distributor can handle a maximum of 3500W, which makes it suitable for a maximum of 12 solar panels.
When do you choose a PV distributor?
We connect solar panels to a separate group in your fuse box. For this, we upgrade your fuse box or use empty pipes. If you have no space or empty pipes, then a PV distributor is for you. This way, you don't need any extra cables or pipes. Approximately 12 solar panels fit on a PV distributor. Will there be more solar panels on your roof? The PV distributor is not a good choice.
