Description

With the Wacom Cintiq 22, you can make the best drawings on the built-in 22-inch Full HD screen as a starting creative. This means you don't have to watch your monitor screen anymore to see what you're doing, but you can see your creative ideas come to life directly on the drawing tablet. With the included Wacom Pro Pen 2, it feels like you're drawing on real paper thanks to its 8192 pressure levels. You can precisely determine the thickness of the lines. You don't need to charge the pen separately, because it charges itself via the Cintiq tablet.

Note: this drawing tablet is not a standalone model. You have to connect it to a PC or laptop.

A lovely screen with perfect size

  • Perfect drawing format
  • Wacom ProPen 2
  • Own support
  • No 2K or 4K

For a long time I have been working with the Wacom Cintiq Pro 16. Unfortunately I had to return it twice due to a design flaw in the screen. Coolblue's service is always super optimal, so I got a brand new one the first time and my money back the second time (was still under warranty). Since the Pro 16 was out of stock at the time and I need a tablet for work, I decided to try the Cintiq 22. One of the first advantages of the tablet is that it comes with its own support. Unfortunately, this has not been standard for a long time. It is a modest and easy-to-use support that can be fixed in several positions. The support is very sturdy. The support can also be removed if you want to attach the tablet to a monitor arm. Furthermore, no separate 3-in-1 cable was used for this screen, but just 3 separate cables (power, HDMI and USB) each with its own input on the screen. This makes replacing cables a lot easier. Wacom uses the same driver for all tablets, so installing was a breeze for me. The image is clear and wonderful to draw on. The screen does not have etched glass like the pro series, but a protective fleece with a light structure. This one is already on the screen and is very well pasted with no air bubbles. The disadvantage is that after long use you can see the "pen scratches" where you draw the most. I only see the spot when the screen is off. At the moment it doesn't bother me while drawing. What is also striking is that the screen is not 4K (or 2K) but full HD. Because of the size and because you sit fairly close to the screen while drawing, the pixels are clearly visible. This is a bit of a swallow when you get rid of a 4K screen, but after a while I didn't notice it anymore. The size (22 inches) is perfect for drawing on. 16" is a very nice size, but this gives me just a little more freedom. The edges are also not as exaggerated as with the Pro series. This keeps the size modest. The pen and pen pressure are of top quality, as I am used to from Wacom. The screen is wonderful to work with. There are no extra buttons for shortcuts and functions, but I was already used to this from the Pro series. You have the option to buy the separate Expresskey Remote, but I myself use a Razer Tartarus V2. This allows me to continue drawing without having to reach for my keyboard all the time. For those who want to remain mobile, it is better to look at a smaller screen. This screen is for working at a fixed place.

Good "budget" Wacom tablet.

Wacom now has two types of "Cintiq" screens on the market, the normal line and the PRO line. The pro line screens have a slightly higher resolution and are somewhat colourful, however. Pen experience is identical on the pro and the "normal" line. I personally use it to model in 3D so color is not very important to me. Also have no problems with the resolution which is just fine. I can imagine that if you're editing very high-end photos for a large company, you might prefer a tablet from the pro line. However, be prepared to pay more than double, All in all I am very happy with it. I also have the Wacom remote and can highly recommend it.
