Excellent processor that works well with a medium-sized air cooler, straight out of the box. But the i5 14600K comes into its own with 'undervolting', then the maximum power is not much more than 130W and the temperature remains below 70C. The minimum power is less than 10W, which makes the processor very efficient in many cases. The i5 does not suffer from the problems that the latest generations of i7 and i9 have.

The 6 P-cores (5.3 GHz) have hyperthreading, so together with the 8 E-cores (4.0 GHz) the processor has 20 threads at its disposal. That gives a good balance between single-core speed and parallel computing power.

For this i5 you need a somewhat more expensive motherboard, but then you can use nice and fast DDR5 memory.

Hardcore gamers are probably better off with an AMD processor, optimized for high frame rates on a heavy graphics card.
