AOC Q24G2A/BK

I've had this monitor for a while now and I must say I'm pretty happy with it. I think this is really one of the better monitors you can find in this price range. The reason why I would recommend this monitor is the combination of 1440p, 165hz, IPS panel and G-sync. Thanks to the 1440p resolution, the screen is nice and sharp and you can see more compared to a 1080p screen. Many other monitors have a VA panel which can cause ghosting, I have not had any problems with this IPS panel, the colors are also very good. Thanks to G-sync, I no longer suffer from screen tearing and the 165hz is really a big difference if you come from a 60hz monitor, it all feels very smooth. The height-adjustable stand is also a nice touch, I no longer have to place a monitor stand under my monitor. Small tip if you notice that you still have stutters while gaming, my mouse had a polling rate that was too low and was therefore not fast enough for this screen, you actually want a polling rate that is higher than the refresh rate of your screen. A faster mouse solved this. You can search online for 'online polling rate test' to test how fast your mouse is.

The screen provides a nice and fast image. It is really intended for games and that is really reflected in the specs and appearance. The latter may be a matter of taste. I would have preferred to see a black version of AOC, but the red certainly has something to offer. The image is super smooth and fast and has a pleasant and clear menu in which you can adjust various components as desired. From settings to your colors and brightness, to game settings. A nice one that I gratefully use is the timer. Not everyone will appreciate that, but I do like that short reminder that I have already been busy for an hour (or more). It doesn't stay on the screen for long, but it's enough for me to glance at the clock. The sharpness of the image is also top notch. Very pleasant to look at for longer. The colors are also beautifully displayed. I wanted something more than the standard, but I didn't need 4k. I thought that was a bit exaggerated in terms of price. That screen is really great, especially when you look at the price. The screen is slightly smaller compared to other gaming screens, but for me this is exactly the size I was looking for. I use the screen together with my gaming laptop. So this screen is my main screen and works well with my laptop screen.

I am very happy with this monitor! I was looking for an upgrade for my current 1080p 75hz for a long time, and couldn't find anything. My desk is not that big, so I was looking for a 24-inch screen. Well, I didn't really need 4K and 240hz, a bit exaggerated in my opinion, and luckily I found this one! 24 inches, 1440p 165hz is apparently very unique, because it is (one of) the only ones! Mounting the monitor was very simple: tighten one screw at the leg and click the leg into the back of the screen. And finished! Setting up the monitor is a bit "clunky", the screen has 5 buttons (1 on/off) and the other 4 are for settings. Takes some getting used to, but it works. However, the sound is not recommended. Fortunately, I didn't buy this monitor because of the built-in speakers, but if you don't have speakers and you want to use them for sound... I strongly advise against it. All in all a fantastic monitor. Easy to put together, good picture and very smooth (don't forget to adjust the refresh rate in Windows, it defaults to 60hz) for the price!
