Easy way to fix flex on a shirt, for example. Recently, however, I re-seamed an older (expensive) 3-layer WWA jacket. At the time I wanted to do this, the "old" hand press was broken, strange beeping and there was no way to get it working again. The thing was a few years old but in terms of meters of use it was actually still new. Too bad. Ordered a new one and of course it was delivered very quickly and neatly, as we have come to expect. I was able to re-tape the seams of the jacket quite quickly (nice job... especially the hood is very difficult and fiddly) and a device like this works very well for that. Heat seam tape in position 1 with a piece of baking paper in between until it can be removed, cut new tape to size and heat it firmly again in position 1 with a piece of baking paper and press it down. The WWA jacket can last for a few more years. (WWA= 3-layer Goretex or Dermizax for example) So not only handy for making fun things but also handy for this kind of tasks.
