Note: make sure to keep the original packaging, including the manual and cables. If you want to return the product, you'll only receive a full refund from Oculus when all these components are present.
Play virtual reality games without needing a PC with the lighter Oculus Quest 2. You can use this active headset wherever you want via the Oculus app. That means you can enter virtual reality in your bedroom, the living room, or at a friend's house. The images look realistic on the screen of this VR headset, as the resolution is almost equal to 4K. In addition, this Quest 2 weighs 10% less than its predecessor. This allows you to game more comfortably. You also won't be tied to cables that limit your movement options. The cameras on the VR headset scan the environment, creating six degrees of freedom (SDOF). This way, your movements are accurately followed by the headset. This technique recognizes when you jump, turn, or bend and translates this into the game you're playing. This makes your VR experience even more realistic. Thanks to the updated controllers, you have even better control over the virtual world than with the Oculus Quest. You can save an average of about 20 games on this 64GB model.
Note:don't throw away the packaging. You'll need this if you need to return the VR headset for repair.

The Oculus Quest 2 is easy to use as VR glasses. This makes VR gaming accessible to me and I don't have to struggle through a 20-page manual. The screen of the Quest 2 also has a resolution that is almost 4K. But is the Quest 2 really an improvement on the Oculus Quest? Gaming everywhere The Oculus Quest 2 are active VR glasses and that means I can game anywhere. Because I don't need a computer, I play around the house and in the office without being tied to a cable. I'm working really hard then. Improved screen This Oculus Quest 2 has a single LCD screen. On paper that sounds less luxurious than a double OLED screen, but in practice it is an improvement. The resolution of the Quest 2 is noticeably higher than the resolution of the screen of the Oculus Quest. For me that means more fun, because the sharper the images look in-game, the more realistic the virtual world looks. Nice controllers The controllers of the Oculus Quest 2 are comfortable to hold. They are not too big or too small and I can easily press all the buttons. I also have enough grip on the handles. It's nice that those controllers don't fly through the room during a game of fanatic Beat Saber. Medium sound The headset is equipped with stereo speakers. The volume can be loud enough in my opinion, but for a real experience I have to put on an external headset. When I'm in my own virtual reality world, good surround sound completes the experience for me. More wearing comfort I immediately feel as soon as I have the Quest 2 on, that it is lighter in weight than the Oculus Quest. This Quest 2 is more than 10 percent lighter than its predecessor, with a weight of around 500 grams. That increases wearing comfort. What is a bit of a shame is that the headband is disappointing. It is not easily adjustable and is not provided with soft filling for my baby soft skin.

For me (68 year old) the very first experience with virtual reality. In the time of Covid-19 isolation, I wanted to be able to "travel": different environments, into space, experiencing some unknown challenges. Mini-manual reading, connecting to wifi, bluetooth, ipad app, etc. plus updating firmware took about 45 minutes. Then get used to using the controllers through introduction. Setting the lens distance was a bit frustrating. Then it turned out that I really have to wear my distant glasses under the Quest. According to the Oculus site, my glasses meet the required dimensions, but it's not all that good. Glasses cut into skin, and easily hit the glass of the Quest. Often fiddling with it during sessions. So unfortunately really have to buy new, narrow, small glasses. The foam of the Quest gives a somewhat burning sensation on my skin. It doesn't close well at my nose, I can see through it, which I don't mind. The headband is not easily adjustable, it also requires fiddling. Got a slight headache the first time because of the pressure on my head and sleeping. I now largely solve that by wearing a hat under the Quest. Kind of stupid, but it spreads the pressure a bit. There must be a much better Elite headband out there, but not available at the moment. The sound is remarkably good (but I am not an audiophile). Once you understand how it works, the search for interesting games and apps begins. I had already done that before, but then still install it. Not looking for shooters and horror. And not really loud, very busy music either. Unfortunately, you get to hear that very often. I'm looking for more: beautiful, nature, educational, meditative. Tripp offers meditatives. Light Saber is good for movement/coordination/reaction speed. I (as a practitioner) find Tai Chi VR immensely disappointing. Visited my birthplace and other old places of residence via Wander. Only had the Quest for 1 week - so there's still a lot to discover and figure out. Especially in the beginning: kicking. After the first session, I lay down on the floor for ten minutes, with a "wow!" feeling. Noticed that I sometimes got a dry mouth and throat because I apparently kept my mouth open in surprise. Looking further... with some games/apps I think: nice, promising future possibilities, but not yet optimal. Several games that I would like to watch are not in the Oculus store. But you can sideload via Sidequest. At least if you have a PC. Unfortunately I can't do that on my old Mac. And some (seemingly interesting) games only work on the Oculus Rift or other VR devices. Hopefully the number for the Quest will expand soon. The battery drains within two hours, and takes 2 hours to charge to 100%. That's actually fine, because I don't have to use it for more than 1 hour in a day. It does cause quite a bit of visual stress in my opinion. eye fatigue.
