WD BLACK P50 Game Drive SSD 500GB

Why did I buy this product? I had bought a 2017 iMac 5k over the holidays as a desktop work computer for my home. As I expected, the built-in FusionDrive wasn't a real speed demon and the old SSD I had laying around was an older generation and didn't have enough storage. At the same time, we decided to sell our PS4 and switch to a Gaming PC. After some research it turned out that the iMac (despite Apple's deplorable gaming reputation) could also be transformed into a fine Gaming PC. The quest for an Apple-Windows SSD was open. My first experiences As always, I have to praise Coolblue again for their neat delivery. I ordered the disc at 11:58 PM and had it in my hands the next day. Hat off! What followed was less smooth sailing. I had to split the drive into an Apple section and a Windows section to run both operating systems from the WD on my iMac. I managed to get the APFS format (Mac boot format) first and then also format in NTFS (Windows), but the partitions were lost every time. In plain language: I could only install one of the operating systems on the SSD at a time and not both at the same time. So I decided to return the disc. But then... Before returning, I decided to try one last time and sure enough... Miraculously, I managed to install both operating systems on the SSD. My Mac suddenly started up in 20 seconds (before that was two minutes) and all apps now run smoother than ever before. Then I booted the iMac into Windows via Bootcamp. The real test came at the start of the first game and WOW! WHAT A PICTURE! The games run without a hitch and also look beautiful on the 5k display of the iMac. In short: The drive has allowed me to quickly edit photos and devour media on MacOS while enjoying a wonderful gaming experience on Windows. I am very enthusiastic about this disc!
