Estimating how much time you'll need with your team? Boring. It's a lot more fun and clear with a game of Planning Poker. Really. We do it too. Every task is assigned a number of points to indicate its difficulty. Each team member places a face-down card on the table with the estimated number of points. The people whose numbers are furthest apart will need to defend their estimates. The whole team then makes a decision. Having trouble estimating points? Use the T-shirt cards to divide tasks into sizes S, M, and L. It's also useful when you're moving to another home or planning a garden renovation.
