Have had this Logitech Z906 for at least 4 years, but not at the time bought from Coolblue. Which doesn't stop me from writing a review about this great set here. After the large package has been delivered, the unpacking party starts of course. Everything is well packed separately with plastic and the whole is in a sturdy cardboard box with polystyrene foam compartments for all speakers and accessories. The subwoofer is on the left front of me on the floor next to the curtains, the center speaker is in the middle of the TV cabinet together with the control unit and I have hung the 4 satellites on the ceiling in every corner of the living room. This is possible because luckily the speakers can be connected with a good speaker cable. The disadvantage is that the standard thin short cords are not suitable in my situation, of course. I therefore looked for speakers that could be connected with a normal speaker cord. The control unit is the only part that is connected to the subwoofer with a thick so-called monitor cable, so the rest is connected to the sub with speaker cable and the sub itself is called a fixed power cable with plug. To hang the speakers from the ceiling, you naturally need brackets, which have also been indicated in previous reviews, which are not included in the package. I solved that very cheaply and simply by going to the hardware store and buying L-shaped standard 4 shelf supports in the color black for less than ten euros. What has already been mentioned in an earlier response to a review is that you can buy standard tripod screws at a photo shop that are suitable for the type of screw thread that is present in the satellite speakers. I did not know that at the time and then found normal bolts that turned out to have a number of windings grip in this connection with the advantage that my bolts could not be tightened completely and therefore have half a centimeter of play from bracket to speaker. This has the advantage, however, that my satellites are inclined downwards and thus blow the sound diagonally downwards, as it were, at ear height into the room. I connected the satellites with thicker, high-quality custom speaker cable and the cables run behind the shelf supports out of sight over my suspended ceiling and then go down behind my curtain to the subwoofer connection. Then I tried all the settings, one of which has become my favorite in almost all sound situations and that is quadrophony, also called 4.1. If you have multiple speakers, you will never switch back to 2.1 because that really doesn't sound like a meter anymore. 5.1 does give a spatial effect, but I don't have any equipment that I can connect with 5.1 cables. The unit then has to convert the stereo signal to a 5.1 signal, which works well in itself, but is not my preference. For all the uncertainties that I have read here in the various reviews: So you can indeed set ALL speakers separately (!) So you have the total volume over ALL speakers, but you should actually see this more as the volume for your front speakers, so apart from the total volume you can individually adjust the volume of your subwoofer more or less heavily, but also the rear speakers adjust more or less. so you can't control your front speakers separately since this is already done with your total volume. I think this creates the big misunderstanding that not all speakers can be controlled separately, but that is the case. As an example: if I want my rear speakers to sound louder than my front speakers because they hang further away and apart from that, turn the subwoofer down a bit, then I first ensure the desired total volume over all speakers, then I increase the volume of the rear speakers adjust and then I adjust how softly I want to hear or feel the subwoofer. So you can adjust all speakers separately. So in my example I set up quadrophony, but if you want 5.1 sound, you can also adjust your center speaker separately from the total volume on the unit with the remote control, just like the subwoofer. When I'm away from home I switch off the power everywhere, so nothing is on standby and the nice thing about this set is that my personal settings are still remembered in the unit. Don't ask me how that is possible, but when I get home I don't have to reset anything because the power has been cut. Might be nice to know. Because I have been using this set for 4 years, I can say a little more about reliability and durability. This one is simply good. The set has been through various situations, including relocations, and has survived absolutely everything. The sound quality, because that's what it's all about after all, is truly sublime. High tones are high, mid tones are mid, and low tones are audible but also perceptibly low. About the power that was mentioned in a previous review, I can only judge that "what you hear is what you get" and in my experience, this set has the power that is mentioned in the specifications. However, I think that quality says more than power, and that is super good. Several people who visit me have noticed that if the total volume is turned down, there is still a full rich bass present. Something that many other sets can't achieve at low volume, so you don't have to turn your set up loud to get a good full bass response. But certainly also at a louder volume, all the sound continues to sound optimal and nothing is drowned out or over-shouted. That is what the THX certification also stands for, among other things. Just good sound at whatever volume you put the set on. What volume is the set at for me? Well the total volume is about half open with a good movie, I really have to squeeze the subwoofer to just under a third (that's how the sub is present) and my rear satellites are at the maximum volume, since they are also the furthest depend on me. You can read every setting nicely on the unit if you switch between all speakers. So good sound, and audible and tactile sub, with effect from every corner of the room. Quadrophony is my preference because the presence of the rear speakers is better compared to 5.1, since the rear speakers with 5.1 then have more of a function of soft surround sound. I have therefore adjusted the effect of my front and rear speakers to the same audible volume, while in the unit that means that my rear speakers are fully open and the total volume is not, just to clarify. The only downside I can really find in this set is that there is no equalizer to set, so not so much the volume of each speaker, but also the sound, or frequency, of the total number of speakers. I solved this because my set is connected to a desktop with which I can of course control the sound via software settings. And not because the sound from the set is not good, that I have to adjust that, no on the contrary. The sound that I have to adjust is when I listen to the Top40 via youtube, for example. I find the quality sound that is offered via youtube "standard" and does not sound bad in itself, until you adjust something with an equalizer in your computer. You will notice that there is quite a bit of high and low missing in sound on youtube. You can of course adjust the sound in several ways, on the one hand via your volume mixer of your operating system, on the other hand via, for example, the equalizer of your multimedia player with which you play music or a movie. Another addition to the remote control, you should aim it well at the unit, otherwise there is a chance that the remote control will not respond, or rather, that the unit will not respond. I can be short about the battery life of the remote control, the supplied batteries have been in it for 4 years and they still work perfectly.

Hello everyone I bought this set about a year ago and the first impression was sublime. I thought: "500 watts from such small speakers", that is not possible! Until I connected them to my television. That was a surprise. I could only have them play at half volume because otherwise my ears would be broken. Movies: With every kind of film, the sound is well distributed over the 5.1 speakers and you experience a kind of three-dimensional world. The reason for this is easy to describe. You get information (sound) from all sides so it has the impression that you experience the story yourself. In action movies, the impact of the bullets is clearly felt by the subwoofer. games: With games, the sound always differs greatly and the Logitech z906 adapts to that. With Call Of Duty bombs are very well felt by the body. You can also hear footsteps through the rear speakers phenomenally well. In racing games you can hear the opponent's motorcycle panting behind your ears. The great quality and the 3D effect make the gaming experience much more intense than the speakers of the television itself. Music: All music genres are played perfectly by the overwhelming speakers. From House music to Classical music. He makes everything sound without noise. Even at the highest volume, all sounds still sound clear, but you should not try that indoors. Finally: To this day I have not had any problems with sounds that drop out or sound impure. It is a very good set of speakers with multiple capabilities. You can use them to play music on a computer, but also to experience movies more intensely. You will never regret this set. Do you want to spend more on a home cinema? Then you can still use this set to connect to the computer. I recommend this set for the people who want value for money!
