What's the preparation quality of a stove?
This is how we determine the preparation quality
When we review the quality range, we use the following specifications.
- Type of oven functions: an oven with fan oven function and grill gives you more preparation methods.
- Minimum temperature: a low minimum temperature is suitable for slow cooking or defrosting meals.
- Maximum temperature: a higher maximum temperature is important for preparing a home-made pizza, for example.
- Temperature controls oven: an oven with electronic controls ensures that the temperature is more constant and precise.
- Timer: with a timer, the oven will automatically switch off after a set time.
- Heat source cooktop: an induction cooktop is more energy-efficient, safer, and faster than ceramic or gas.
- Roasting sensor: sets the temperature of the cooking zone, so your meat won't burn.*
- Keep-warm function: keeps your dish warm without cooking it any further.*
- Flexible cooking zone: with flexible cooking zones, you can use extra large pans and change the layout of the cooktop according to your own liking.*
- Wok burner: the powerful burner heats up the pan quickly to prepare work dishes.*
Specifications with a * only apply to gas stoves.
High-end preparation quality
A stove has a high-end preparation quality when it has at least 70% of the relevant specifications. All stoves in this range have electronic oven temperature controls, so you can prepare dishes more precisely. In this range, you'll also find stoves with a cooktop with flexible zones. This will provide room for extra large pans or a roasting pan. Do you often roast meat? Choose a high-end stove with temperature control.
Mid-range preparation quality
A stove with mid-range preparation quality has at least 50% of the specifications that are important for the preparation quality. About half of these stoves have a wok burner. This allows you to quickly heat up a pan and easily prepare a wok dish. A mid-range stove doesn't always have a keep-warm function by default, but some models do have it. With the keep-warm function, you can keep your dish warm without cooking it any further. This allows you to keep it warm until you want to serve it.
Basic preparation quality
Stoves with a basic preparation quality have less than half of the listed specifications. You'll have to control the oven temperature mechanically, so you can't set a precise temperature. Only a few of the basic stoves have a wok burner. The advantage of a basic stove is that it's often more affordable. If you want more options, I recommend at least a mid-range stove.
