Mobile Device Management
Mobile Device Management
App your service.What's MDM?
With Mobile Device Management (MDM) software, you can set up, manage, and secure mobile devices within your company. Consider an MDM system if more than 10 people in your organization have a company smartphone or tablet. This allows you to save a lot of time and money on the maintenance of such a large number of devices. Mobile Device Management is useful in 3 phases:
- Configuration: setting up and handing out devices
- Management: same settings and apps for each employee
- Security: each device as secure as possible
What does Mobile Device Management do?
Configuration
With an MDM system, you can set up all new devices quickly and simultaneously according to your preference. This saves you a lot of time, because you'll no longer have to set up new smartphones one by one. Besides, you can prevent problems with passwords when an employee leaves the company. Maybe you're familiar with the following situation. An employee leaves the company and you want to reuse their smartphone, but it still has a password on it. Because you can't access the device anymore, you can't use it. When you set up your devices with MDM, you can avoid these kinds of surprises.
Management
Without MDM, employees can adjust settings. When apps or functions stop working due to this, that's not very convenient. The result? The service desk spends a lot of time on restoring the settings. This is unfortunate, because it means there's less time for long-term projects. With MDM, you can prevent your employees from adjusting settings on the device themselves. You can also install the necessary apps remotely. That way, the devices of employees with the same job are all the same.
Security
With MDM, you can keep all the devices as secure as possible. For example, you can set that employees can't download just any app and (unsafe) files. You can also push all the updates, so the security is always up to date. Thanks to this, sensitive information stays within the digital walls of your company. You can also create separate environments for work and personal life. That way, you make sure backups with company information don't end up in the personal cloud of an employee and the other way around.
