How do you make your JURA ENA 8 ready for use?
You've just received the JURA ENA 8 and you're ready to use it. Before you make your first cup of coffee, you should follow a few steps to make the machine ready for use. We'll guide you through these steps in this article, so you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee in no time.
Get started with your JURA ENA 8

You need:
- Coffee beans
- Water hardness test strip
- Water filter
- Container with 1L capacity
Step 1: connect the coffee machine
- Fill the bean hopper with coffee beans.
- Put the connector in the socket.
- Turn on the machine with the button on top of the machine.
- The machine will ask you to set the correct language.
- Use the button in the bottom left to click through the options.
- When you've selected the correct language on the display, confirm you choice with the button next to the correct language
Step 2: adjust the water hardness
- After you select the language, you can set the water hardness.
- Take the water hardness test strip and put it in a glass of water for 2 seconds.
- After 1 minute, you can see the result.
- Use the buttons at the top left and right to choose the red bars that match the test strip.
- Confirm the correct water hardness with the button at the top left.
Step 3: set the water filter
- Take the water filter.
- Assemble the water filter.
- Take the water tank from the machine and place the water filter in it.
- Fix the water filter in place from the top.
- Fill the water tank with water almost completely and place it back in the machine.
- Put a container of at least 1L under the coffee outlet right away.
- Water will come out of the machine while it rinses.
- The rinse stops automatically.
Step 4: rinse the machine
- The display will show 'empty drip tray'.
- Take the drip tray and coffee grounds container from the machine.
- Empty them both and place them back in the machine.
- Place the container back underneath the coffee outlet.
- The display will show 'rinse'. Press the button next to it and rinse the machine again.
- The rinse stops automatically.
- Remove the container.
- The JURA ENA 8 is now ready for use.
