Connect your induction stove properly
For an induction stove, you need the right plug. This way, you prevent the fuses from blowing. Check whether your stove has a 2 or 5-pin socket and if that fits in your kitchen. You also have to check whether your fuse box has high-voltage power or a double-pole breaker. If it doesn't, you should have an electrician come by to convert your fuse box.
Cooking on induction
If you replace your gas stove with an induction stove, you might have to get used to cooking on induction. You won't see a flame, but have to put the setting higher or lower. As soon as you turn on a cooking zone, a magnetic field is created between the cooktop and the pan. As a result, the bottom of the pan gets warm. When you take the pan off the cooktop after cooking, it turns off automatically. This makes cooking on induction safe. Do keep an eye on the residual heat indicator.
Buy the right pans
For an induction stove, you need a pan that's suitable for the magnetic bottom. You can recognize a pan suitable for induction by this symbol. You also have to keep the size in mind. If the pan is too large for the cooking surface, it doesn't distribute heat properly.
Oven symbols
Your stove is covered in symbols with different meanings. What those symbols look like differs per brand, but most functions are the same. There are symbols the for fan oven, the grill function. or the pizza setting, for example.
