How do you solve microphone problems with your Corsair headset?
Solve issues with your Corsair headset microphone
Set up the settings of your headset correctly. Follow the 3 tips below to solve microphone issues of your headset.

Tip 1: solve hardware problems
First, check if there's a problem with the hardware. Connect your Corsair headset to a different audio connector in your device. Then connect the headset to a different device to test if the headset works. If the microphone still isn't working, it's likely that the headset is damaged. If you use the wireless dongle, use a paperclip to carefully press the little button on the back. When the LED light starts flashing, hold the on/off button down until the LED light stays on. If the hardware works properly, it may be caused by the audio settings or the Corsair software. We'll discuss these tips.
Tip 2: give microphone access
If the microphone of your Corsair headset isn't working, check the app settings of your PC. You can give the app access to the microphone to make it work. We'll explain how to do this.
- Step 1: on your keyboard, press the Windows logo and type 'microphone' in the search bar. Then click on 'Privacy settings for microphone'.
- Step 2: make sure 'Allow apps to access your microphone' is enabled.
- Step 3: scroll down and choose which apps can access your microphone. Make sure you set the the switch of the app you are using to 'On'.

Tip 3: Update the firmware
A firmware update is necessary for your headset to function properly. If your Corsair headset isn't working, try updating the firmware to see if that helps.
- Step 1: connect your Corsair headset to a computer.
- Step 2: launch iCUE. If you don't have iCUE, download it via the link below.
- Step 3: go to the 'Settings' tab.
- Step 4: first select your headset, then check 'Force update' and click the 'Update' button.
- Step 5: wait for the process to complete and see if your headset works.
Now that you've set up the correct settings, the microphone Corsair headset should work without a problem. If not, continue with the last tip to troubleshoot your Corsair headset.
Tip 4: adjust audio settings
Sometimes you manually set the default devices for sound. You can also set up your microphone yourself. We'll explain how to do this.
- Step 1: right-click the sound icon in the taskbar. click on 'Sounds'.
- Step 2: open the 'Record' tab and click on your Corsair headset. Set it as the default device.
- Step 3: click on your Corsair headset again and click on 'Properties'.
- Step 4: go to the 'Levels' tab and drag the slider all the way to the right. Click 'OK'.
- Step 5: click 'OK' to save your changes.
Try using your Corsair headset again and your microphone should work again.
