What do you do when your induction stove makes noise?
Different noises
In this article, we'll explain 3 types of noise with your stove:
- Ticking
- Buzzing
- Whistling
Ticking noise
Do you hear a ticking noise while cooking? There might be moisture on the bottom of the pan. Dry this with a cloth. If you're cooking at a low power, a ticking noise is normal. The electricity switches to keep the power low. Are you using the oven to cook and do you hear a ticking noise? Materials may expand because of the heat or shrink after the program. This is normal too.
Buzzing noise
A buzzing sound is caused by the magnetic field between the cooktop and the bottom of your pan. This causes the bottom of your pan to vibrate, resulting in a buzzing or squeaking noise. Do you hear the buzzing noise while preparing an oven dish? It's the fan in the back of the oven in that case. This spreads the hot air throughout the oven space, so your food will cook evenly. When you turn off the oven after cooking, the cooling fan will turn on. This will cool the oven space faster.
Whistling noise
Do you hear a whistling noise while cooking on your stove? This noise occurs when a pan is made of different materials. You also hear the whistling noise when 2 pans are close together or 1 pan is smaller than the cooking zone. Does it really bother you? Turn down the setting.
