How do you descale your Melitta Solo?

Descale your Melitta coffee machine with these useful video instructions. We'll go through these 3 steps:

You need:
- Melitta Bio descaler
How often should you descale?
Descale your Melitta coffee machine every 3 months with the Melitta Bio descaler. You use this descaler to descale the machine in an environmentally-friendly way. We recommend you descale the machine in time to prevent limescale buildup in the pipes. In addition, you extend the lifespan of your machine and ensure the best coffee taste.
Step 1: prepare the descaling
- Turn off the coffee maker.
- Press the button with 2 coffee cups and the 'on/off' button for 3 seconds at the same time.
- Remove the drip tray and coffee grounds container from the coffee maker and empty them. Then put them back.
- Remove and empty the water tank.
- Remove the water filter from the water tank. This is how you screw it out with the attachment.
- Fill the water tank to the 0.5L mark.
- Put 3 measuring spoons of the Melitta descaler in the water tank.
- Place the water tank back in the coffee machine.
Step 2: descale the machine
- Press the button with the coffee bean to start descaling. Descaling takes about 15 minutes.
- A symbol for the drip tray will then appear on the display.
- Remove the drip tray, empty it, and place it back.
- Remove the water tank from the coffee maker and empty it.
- Rinse it thoroughly and fill it up to 'max' with water.
- Place the water tank back in the machine..
Step 3: rinse the machine
- Press the button with the coffee bean to rinse the machine with water.
- When the machine stops dispensing water and 2 icons flash, the machine has finished rinsing.
- Remove the drip tray from the machine, empty it, and put it back in.
- Remove the water tank from the coffee machine and place the water filter back in the water tank.
- Place the water tank back in the machine.
- The machine has now been successfully descaled and is ready for use again.
