You have to degrease your Melitta Solo approximately every 2 months or when the coffee machine tells you to. Use the Melitta cleaning tablets for this. You rinse the pipes with the tablets, so coffee residue and grease disappears. This way, you can keep your Melitta in good condition and it lasts longer.
Step 1: prepare the cleaning
- Remove the water tank from the coffee machine.
- Fill the water tank to 'Max'.
- Place the full water tank back into the coffee machine.
- When the machine is off, press the coffee cup button and the 'on/off' button at the same time for 3 seconds.
- Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container.
- Place the drip tray, without the coffee grounds container, back in the machine.
- Place the coffee grounds container under the coffee outlet.
- The coffee machine flushes briefly.
- When the machine has finished rinsing, the 'on/off' button will light up.
Step 2: run the cleaning program
- Pull off the panel on the side of the coffee machine.
- Press and hold the red button on the brew group handle. Turn the handle clockwise.
- Remove the brew group from the machine.
- Place the Melitta Perfect Clean cleaning tablet in the brew group.
- Place the brew group back in the machine.
- Click the panel back into the coffee machine.
- Fill the water tank to 'Max' with water.
- Place the water tank back in the machine.
- Push the coffee spout all the way down.
- Press the coffee bean button to resume the cleaning program.
Step 3: rinse the machine
- When the machine has finished rinsing, the drip tray icon will light up.
- Remove the drip tray from the coffee machine and empty it together with the coffee grounds container.
- Place the drip tray, without the coffee grounds container, back in the machine.
- Place the coffee grounds container under the coffee outlet again.
- The cleaning program will resume.
- When the machine has finished rinsing, the drip tray icon lights up.
- Remove and empty the coffee grounds container and drip tray.
- Place both back in the coffee machine.
- The coffee machine is now done cleaning.
