Everything on the DJI Avata

On 25 August 2022, DJI launched the DJI Avata. This is a new DJI FPV drone. The Avata looks more like a DIY drone than the last FPV. The model is lightweight and compact. And because it's very maneuverable, this drone is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. We'll tell you all about the most important specifications of the new DJI Avata here.

  • You receive a compact and lightweight VR headset to experience the flight from the sky.
  • You can control the drone accurately with hand movements with the Motion Controller.
  • With the light and agile FPV drone, you can fly both outside and inside.
  • It's not possible to collapse this drone.

Cinewhoop design

Cinewhoop design

The DJI Avata has protection around the propellers, which makes the design look like a DIY or Cinewhoop drone. This protection ensures more security during your flight. If you bump into something, the propellers won't damage as easily. In addition the protection ensures a better air flow over the propellers. This allows the drone to fly better. As a result, you can fly the Avata both indoors and outdoors. It flies close to the ground and obstables.

Manual, sports, and normal mode

Flight modes

You can fly the DJI Avata in different modes, manual, sports, and normal. In the normal mode, the drone flies the fastest. It'll go up to 140km/h. If you use this mode, you can fly straight up, down, and upside down. This mode is for experienced drone pilots. If you want to practice in this mode, the DJI app has a simulator. In the sports mode, you can't fly as fast. The regular mode is the slowest mode.

Various versions

Different DJI Avata versions

You can choose from different DJI Avata versions. They mostly differ in included accessories. You can buy a separate drone without a remote or a version with a motion controller, for example. The drone reacts to your movements right away, which allows you to accurately control the drone. If you want extra batteries for the Avata, you need the Fly More Kit.

DJI Goggles

DJI Goggles

If you buy the DJI Avata Fly Smart Combo or Pro View Combo, you'll also receive a Goggles. With this VR headset, you can experience the drone flight from the air. The Flu Smart Combo includes the Goggles V2 that was included with the DJI FPV. The Pro View Combo includes the upgraded Goggles 2. What's changed, you ask? The design is lighter, more compact, and fits around your hear better. This makes it more comfortable in use.
