Which charger do you need for your MacBook?

Power adapters come in various wattages. Your MacBook requires a power adapter with the right wattage. You can easily use a compatible charger with a higher wattage, though it won't charge your MacBook any faster. If you use a charger with a lower wattage, it won't provide enough power for your MacBook.

Choose MacBook charger

Before you can choose the right charger for your MacBook, you have to make some important choices first.

  • Choose the right adapter.
  • Use the right cable.
  • Does you MacBook have a MagSafe connector? Check which MagSafe charger your MacBook needs.
