In this article, we'll explain the following 3 parts of your Growatt inverter:
- Inverter: convert direct current to alternating current. This is a large white cupboard.
- RF stick: transmits radio signal to ShineLanBox. This stick is located in the inverter.
- ShineLanBox: receives the radio signal from the RF stick, which provides information about your generation. This is a separate small cupboard that's located near your modem or router.
Reset Growatt inverter in 4 steps
Do you see a green light in the shape of a leaf on your Growatt inverter? You're generating power when the sun is shining. You just don't see your generation due to a connection error. With the following steps, you can solve this problem.
- Step 1. Check the ShineLanBox.
- Step 2. Check the connection.
- Step 3. Check the RF stick.
- Step 4. Reset the ShineLanBox.
Step 1: check the ShineLanBox
First, check the ShineLanBox. If it's working properly, the 2 upper lights are on. The third light flashes every couple of seconds. Is the top light turned off? Check whether the connector is plugged into the socket properly and whether the socket is working. Is the second light turned off? There's no connection between the ShineLanBox and the modem. Go to the next step for this.
Step 2: check the connection
For the best connection, we connect the ShineLanBox directly to your router or modem. The range of the RF stick is about 20m in your house. Does the connection between the ShineLanBox and the RF stick fail often? Try the following steps:
- Are you using an extra switch or hub? Remove it. This might cause interference.
- Check whether you have more appliances that transmit a radio signal. Chances are this interferes with the signal between the ShineLanBox and the RF stick.
Step 3: check the RF stick

Growatt RF stick with rubber cap
Check whether the RF stick has a red or blue light on. Don't see a light on? This means the RF stick doesn't receive any power from the inverter. Shortly press the button underneath the stick and let go. You'll see a blue light turn on. Do you have a stick with a rubber cap? Unscrew this cap and press the button with a thin object, like a skewer or the back of an earring.
Step 4: reset the ShineLanBox
While the blue light on the stick is flashing, press the reset button on the back of the ShineLanBox once. You'll find this button next to the Ethernet port. You'll see the bottom light on the ShineLanBox turn on. This means that the box is looking for a connection with the RF stick. Once the third light on the ShineLanBox flashes every couple of seconds, this succeeded. Isn't this the case? Press the reset button on the ShineLanBox and hold for 7 seconds. All lights will shortly turn on and off. Follow the steps again.
