How do you reset an Enphase system?

Doesn't your Enphase inverter work properly? In this article, we'll explain how to reset your inverter in 6 steps. This allows you to solve the problem yourself easily and you can see the generation in the app again.

You can reset your Enphase inverter with the following steps.

  • Step 1. Reset your Envoy.
  • Step 2. Connect to the network.
  • Step 3. Open Google in a browser.
  • Step 4. Enter your information.
  • Step 5. Check the reset.

Step 1: reset your Envoy

There's a button between the phone and lightning icon. Press this button shortly. The LED light next to the phone icon will light up in green. This means that the AP is turned on and the wireless network is open. As a result, you'll be able to reach it with your phone or laptop

Step 2: connect to the network

Connect to the Envoy network to your phone, computer, or laptop. Are you using a laptop or computer? Make sure you unplug the internet cable from your computer and you're connected to the WiFi network. Go to your WiFi settings and look for 'Envoy_XXXXXX', of which 'XXXXXX' are the last 6 digits of the serial number of your Envoy. You can find the serial number on the sticker on the front of your Envoy or in the Enphase app.

Step 3: open Google in a browser

Your appliance is no longer connected to the internet, but to your Envoy. Open a broswer (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) on your phone, laptop, or computer, and type '172.30.1.1' in the search bar including the dots.

Step 4: enter your information

A separate page will open. Click the WiFi configuration arrow in the shared window 'Monitoring'. Enter your information. The username is 'envoy' an the password is the last 6 digits of the serial number of your Envoy. Click 'View Networks' and select your home network. Enter the password of your home network and click 'Connect'.

Step 5: check the reset

Return to the overview window in your browser. Check if you're connected to your home network first. Do you see a green checkmark? The connection was successful. Check the top light on your Enphase Envoy, next to the cloud icon. Is it green? You've successfully reset the Enphase inverter. The system will synchronize again, which can take a couple of hours.
