Wifi 6 Mesh = 'infancy technology'

  • fast when it works
  • the support: honest
  • very unstable

After a day of disappointment, returns and search for other brands that would not have the problems of this Linksys product, I came to the conclusion after reading many reviews that Wifi 6 mesh is still a bridge too far in terms of reliability. The Linksys product installs quickly out of the box. The problems arise when you make adjustments afterwards, by moving 'nodes'. Then the installation procedure no longer works and you need [an excellent] Flemish Linksys supporter to help you out with a 'plan B' [in my case no installation via the app but directly hardware-wise]. However: the range and distance of bridging from/via the 'nodes' remains a weak point and after 'switching off' you can start installing again.... In short: far too expensive for a solid and fast WiFi facility. Maybe in a year?

Super handy installation, it works and continues to work

  • Very easy installation
  • Very small minus, no possibility to attach to the wall.

Perfect installation. And also keeps a good connection with connected devices. My MacBook Air had no connection with the previous netgear router, after a few days, the router had to be restarted. Now no problem at all.

Excellent and user-friendly product

  • Easy installation
  • Good range
  • Stable network
  • One Ethernet cable included

I've been using the Linksys Atlas 6 MX 2000 (2-pack) for about two weeks now. I live in an apartment complex with about 30 other apartments and therefore about 30 other networks in the area... This caused the necessary stability problems with the standard WiFi 6 router from KPN. The speed was also nowhere near the 200 Mbps that the router 'flows into'. That is why I have now started using the Atlas 6, with one unit in the living room and one in the meter cupboard (not ideal, but the best solution here).

The installation was incredibly simple. The Linksys app clearly shows what needs to be done and the network is set up within minutes. However, later I ran into a problem, my KPN TV did not work anymore. After some puzzling, this turned out to be because the KPN box should be controlled directly by the KPN router. That is why I have now connected the Linksys router behind the KPN router as access points, whereby I have switched off the WiFi of the KPN router. Some settings cannot be changed when the units are set as access points, but I simply do not need them. This meets my requirements and the Linksys router now works flawlessly while I can also watch TV.

I wired both units for the most stable and fast network possible (only one cable is included). This works entirely as expected, in fact even better than expected. I haven't noticed any network hiccups yet and the speed everywhere in my apartment is close to 200 Mbps. I have 5 Sonos products, a TV, PS5, a number of Google/Ikea/Samsung smart home products and two laptops on the network. Even when almost all devices are used at the same time, I have not experienced any problems / hitches. Like I said, I live in an apartment. So I can't give a good judgment about the maximum range of the units.

The Linksys app offers a lot of options for the demanding user, which I am not really. For example, you can scan the channels on your phone for the least occupied channel and then set it manually. In my situation, however, it's best to just let this happen automatically.

The units are not particularly small, but they are small enough to be able to hide reasonably well. They are also fairly sleek in design and are therefore not an eyesore when you do see them.

All in all, I am very satisfied with the Linksys Atlas 6 and would recommend the product in many situations.
