I now have this GT-AX11000 as AiMesh router with my previous router (RT-AC5300) as AiMesh node. I use an Ethernet connection for the backhaul. I must say pretty fast and a good range together. In addition, all devices (except an old iPad) switch neatly to the strongest and/or fastest channel. With the standard settings of the AX11000 (smart connect rules) this works fine and in most cases without you noticing. The WiFi connection is therefore quite stable. I don't have any AX clients yet so I haven't been able to test that yet. What was striking is that despite the fact that the backhaul runs via the Ethernet cable, one 5GHz band is sacrificed to also serve as backhaul. That was a setback. I would have preferred that if the cable connection fails, that an attack would only be made on the WiFi capacity. Furthermore, the guest networks are not pushed through on the node. So guests have to stay close to the primary router to stay connected to the guest network. Both points may be remedied in the future by means of a software update. Also perhaps the lack of WPA3. But I'm very happy with it; the home network is doing much better than what I had (AC-RT5300 in combination with various wifi extenders). AiMesh does its job really well.

Top router with a huge range and the latest features! Nice but full interface, on the other hand easy to set up and set up.

I bought this router because it supports Mesh and I had to replace my old WiFi router + mesh system because the wife + children complained about the frequent loss of WiFi signal or that there was a ! came up and they had to turn off the WiFi on their device and then turn it on. I've had Asus routers for years, so my choice was easy. The interface doesn't hold many secrets for me either, the installation was done in no time and my entire Mesh system was up and running within 10 minutes. In addition to the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX11000, I also bought 2x an ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) for good WiFi coverage in my house in combination with. Mesh system + good WiFi 6 + Simultaneous tri-band. Everything works very well together. It costs a bit, but then you are ready right away and you have super WiFi in the house. My situation: Router in the meter cupboard, a ZenWiFi AX (XT8 on the 1st floor (why because the WiFi was good but could be better), a ZenWiFi AX (XT8) on the 2nd floor (attic). WiFi, fast and stable In my garden, 14 meters deep, just full range. The ZenWiFi AX (XT8) are connected to the router LAN (backhaul) via the Ethernet port WAN. After 1 week I only hear positive sounds, woman happy, kids happy. Woman works a lot at home and now that the WiFi is no longer out and it is fast, she can work well. Daughter often works with MS Teams for school, also stable. Son can now finally watch TikTok and YouTube without a loss of or disruptive WiFi signal.
