LG OLED77B42LA (2024) + Soundbar

I thoroughly enjoy an evening of binge watching with the LG OLED65B42LA. The bright colors and strong contrast provide realistic images and an immersive effect.

Realistic colors and contrast
I notice that the image quality of this television is very good. The colors pop off the screen and the contrast is high. This gives a very realistic image, which allows me to enjoy my favorite series with full attention. The OLED screen consists of millions of pixels that all light up and dim individually. This makes black images really black. This ensures the high contrast. However, during a sunny afternoon I notice that the brightness is not that high. For example, a dark scene will not be clearly visible. That is why I recommend not placing this television in an overexposed room or next to a large window.

Sleek design
The television has a very thin screen, which gives it a sleek and modern look. This makes it a stylish addition to the interior. Due to the thin design, I hang it tightly against the wall with a wall bracket. I like that the screen is well filled and the TV has almost no edges. This makes me even less aware that I am watching television, so I enjoy what is on the TV more.

Built-in Chromecast and Airplay
This television has both AirPlay and a Chromecast. This way I can quickly stream series and films to the TV from my phone. This television has both AirPlay and a built-in Chromecast, so that is ideal. This means I no longer waste time in the menu and can watch my favorite series on the big screen in no time.

MagicRemote
The OLED TV comes with an LG Magic Remote instead of a standard remote control. The Magic Remote fits comfortably in your hand and is pleasant to use. I find it useful that the smart buttons take me directly to my favorite streaming services, such as Netflix and Disney+.

After spending a few weeks with the LG OLED B4 television, I am very pleased with its performance. The modern and minimalist design looks very elegant. The sturdy legs look stylish and also provide the necessary stability.

The 4K OLED panel offers stunning image quality with sharp details and vivid colors, thanks in part to Dolby Vision. The 100 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth movements, ideal for sports and gaming. The AI Picture Wizard learns your preferences and automatically adjusts the image for the best viewing experience. The Brightness Control ensures that the brightness of the image is adjusted to the amount of ambient light, which is very useful in rooms with changing lighting conditions.

The sound quality is excellent, with a rich sound and great bass that fills the room. The WebOS operating system works quickly and smoothly and offers access to a wide range of apps, including NOS, NPO, Ziggo Go and all streaming platforms. The Magic Remote is a real game changer, with the ability to use the cursor as a mouse, which makes navigating through the menu easy. The LG ThinQ app lets you control the TV from your smartphone, and Chromecast and AirPlay make it easy to stream media from other devices.

The B4 is a big improvement over the B3 in terms of brightness, and offers excellent value for most households. The more expensive models, such as the C4 and G4, are best worth it if you want the absolute best or watch TV a lot during the day in a room with lots of natural light. The only downside I can think of is that you have to create an LG account to use all the features, such as the smartphone controls. All in all, this is an absolute must.
