After first an air conditioner with "built-in dehumidification capacity", this is quite a relief. Compact, mobile, good looking too, and good visual feedback of current humidity or temperature. The dehumidification itself goes very smoothly, but keep in mind - as clearly indicated on the website regarding different types of dehumidifiers - that this type only works properly if there is a minimum temperature. Tip : If that is not the case a small side fire works wonders : within a few minutes you will see the humidity level drop very quickly !! Very easily adjustable to specific desired humidity level, also possibility of "automatic" (ie humidity adapts to temperature to give the greatest possible comfort feeling), "continuous" and "wash drying". Only the latter have not yet been tried since it is not directly the intended application. All settings are logical, the only thing that is not obvious is whether, in addition to the compressor, the fan also stops (at a certain moment) when the desired humidity level is reached. Drainage: The 6 liter water tank is very easy to remove, carry and empty. By the way, you can dehumidify for quite a long time before that reservoir is completely full !! If you want to dehumidify 100% continuously, this is possible: you connect the 3 meter long drain hose to the connection provided for that purpose, make sure that the end hangs either in a sink / bath / from the window for example (higher is really no problem, have that we immediately tested), and press the button for automatic water removal. Only downside: the drain hose is somewhat sensitive to "falling shut", important that you check that there are no kinks, and a click/or twist connector on the machine side would have been the icing on the cake. Noise: I wouldn't recommend running this in your bedroom at night. At the lower ventilation position, the sound is indeed quite quieter, but will still disturb a considerable group of people (opinions are divided here). However, once there is a door in between, it is no longer an issue. A night stand or programmable timer would be perfect.

The device dehumidifies my 15 square meter bedroom well and quickly, even at lower temperatures, for which I had also purchased it. This adsorption dehumidifier is also quite quiet thanks to the lack of a compressor. In the 'low' position, the device makes considerably less noise than a fan in the lowest setting and it certainly does not keep me from sleeping. The device is obviously noisier on the two highest settings, but it is not an unpleasant noise. The water tank is on the small side with 2 liters and can be filled in less than half a day in a damp room. That is why I use the supplied hose to drain the water to a larger container. This dehumidifier is not splash-proof and can therefore not be placed in a bathroom. The setting options are limited, but adequate. I did notice that the device apparently cannot work continuously: when the humidity of the room falls below a certain value (30%, it seems), the device automatically switches off completely. Fortunately, the device can also be set to 40, 50 and 60% humidity. The device then switches back to standby as soon as the set value is reached and switches on again automatically when that value is exceeded again. An adsorption dehumidifier consumes a lot of power (more than a condensation dehumidifier), but in my case, after the first few days, the device only needs to work 1 to 2 hours a day to keep the humidity under control. On an annual basis, the extra electricity costs will therefore probably be limited to just under 100 euros. If you use the dehumidifier much more often, the costs will of course be considerable. All in all I am very satisfied with my purchase of the Qlima DD208.

After the renovation of the sewerage system in our street, we are experiencing a high groundwater level. Our basement (20m² / 40m³) is already a bit older and moisture/water sometimes comes through the joints in the floor. The major problem with our basement, however, is that there are insufficient ventilation options. Result: floor does not dry well, mold formation, musty air, ... that could not be removed. Since we use our basement as storage space, this is not very convenient, because all the stuff in it also gets damaged. At the end of August 2024, we therefore purchased this dehumidifier. What made us decide to buy this dehumidifier is the capacity (can dehumidify larger spaces than our basement), the noise level, the ability to purify air, lesser reviews about a competing brand and mainly the pump function (so that we do not have to continuously empty the reservoir, but the water can be pumped directly outside the basement). The app function was a nice extra but not necessary for us (although I have to say that it is addictive to see what the humidity level is, and you can also easily operate the device via the app). When unpacking the device, all accessories were included, including a drain hose (which is at least 5 meters long, probably longer). We laid this on the ground floor (estimated: 2.5 meters higher), the device has no problems pumping up to this height. The manual was fairly concise but sufficient for us. Upon installation, our basement turned out to have a humidity of about 80%. The device was used 24/7 for the first few days, which also went without any problems. It was soon noticeable that the room became less humid, and the smell also improved. However, the device remained at around 60% humidity for about two weeks. We thought this was a shame because 60% is actually the maximum healthy humidity in a home, but we decided to wait a little longer because the device continued to pump away water. A week passed, and we gradually saw the humidity drop further. After asking around, it turns out that walls and objects can absorb quite a bit of moisture, which explains why the device remained at the same percentage. After about a month of use, we notice that the device is around 40% humidity. Ideal, because this is the minimum (healthy) humidity level in a home. This is also what we had set the device to. In short: we are very satisfied with our choice and the device. Dehumidifying takes a long time (this is the case with all dehumidifiers), but patience is rewarded. We definitely recommend the device. If we ever need a dehumidifier again, it will be this one!
