Makes decent film recordings. As far as I'm concerned, not a nice, tight image, but acceptable. Better, I dare say, than the Panasonics in this price range. But still, I expected much more. 4K recordings are disappointing. In my case, I regularly see white dots in the image while playing a 4k film. Like the old days when they scratched into celluloid (celluloid, who remembers that?). The difference in image quality between 4K recording and the highest adjustable HD is minimal. The zoom function of this Sony is reasonable if you are not too critical. But when the zoom is almost fully zoomed in, it is impossible to get a still image, even with a tripod. It waves and vibrates in all directions. Then the fold-out LCD screen! This works like a mirror outside. Moving objects outside, especially in the air such as birds and planes, cannot be found and followed on the screen. All you see is a reflection of yourself (in 3D!), which makes searching virtually impossible. An LCD hood does not solve the problem either. This is a big flaw in this camcorder for me. It needs a viewfinder which you can actually expect in this price range. Bought because of the positive product information and reviews. But I think it is a lot of money for a reasonable camcorder and therefore returned because I am dissatisfied.
