According to our drone expert
Note: most customers choose the DJI Mini 3 Pro Fly More Combo because of the longer flight time thanks to the 2 extra batteries.
The DJI Mini 3 Pro + Smart Controller is a useful set for the novice or advanced drone operator. The included Smart Controller has a built-in screen, so you don't need a smartphone to fly the drone. You can also watch the flight live. The Mini 3 Pro design is easy to take with you when traveling thanks to its low weight. It weighs only 249g, so you can fly it without a drone course. With the MasterShots function, you can create cinematic videos. The drone automatically performs various movements. For example, it rotates around your subject, creating unique and fluid shots.
Video resolutionYou can record videos in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. This produces sharp and smooth footage. Thanks to the 1/1.3" CMOS sensor, your videos have little noise and a large dynamic range. You record in HDR, so the dark and light parts of your recording contain a lot of detail.
Shooting modesWith the different recording modes of the Mini 3 Pro, you can easily create interesting videos. You can also film vertical footage for social media, such as Instagram and TikTok. Simply use the True Vertical Shooting mode, where the camera gimbal rotates 90 degrees. This vertical footage doesn't result in quality loss.
Flight timeIn good conditions, the maximum flight time is 34 minutes. It can withstand a wind speed of up to 38.5km/h. This drone has obstacle detection at the top, bottom, and side, so it prevents collisions.
Laws and regulationsSince 2021, new European drone legislation applies. This means that drone pilots must register themselves if they own a drone that weighs more than 250g or has a camera. They receive an operator number that needs to be attached to their drone and clearly visible. This drone weighs less than 250g, so you don't need a drone course for this. You do need to register the drone and request an operator number.

I was amazed at the size of the drone. Well actually about the size of the box, but yes; it all fits! Before purchasing I watched the Coolblue video and other instructional videos. Essential for me as a drone pilot with zero experience. Made the necessary registration at the RDW (operator number +/- 1min on the RDW site) and the number stuck on the drone. In the Netherlands it is good to look for a location where you are allowed to fly and a weekend in the Ardennes with the brand new drone was therefore a godsend. Automatic take-off and landing makes everything very user-friendly. The controller with the screen clearly indicates the situation of the drone and your flight. After that it is 'playing' with the sticks to master the movements. This is smooth and fast, so you might forget to press the record button the first time... Anyway, once you did, the images are truly fantastic. A selfie stick of 120 meters high and a line of sight to the drone (VLAS). With QuickShare (DJI app) you can transfer the images to your phone to view them in high resolution. This can also be done by placing the Micro SD card in the phone, but my device does not have that option. Sharing the images is then a piece of cake. You do fly with respect for your surroundings. Others may not see the fun of flying drones. Usually the reactions are very positive and people are curious about the possibilities. A buzzing drone is also not always a desirable spectator for animals. I think flying with common sense is most important for safety and tolerance. As indicated, there is a lot of 'red' on the DroneMap in the Netherlands. The reason for this is not always clear to me, especially when you look at the No-Fly zones in the countries around us. Keep this in mind before you buy a drone: where do you want to fly?! That prevents disappointments. Yes there are all kinds of positions and no, I have not tried everything yet, but so far I am very impressed with the possibilities, the fantastic image and the memories of the places where I have stored the images. The fly-more kit is invariably recommended, but I have to say that I'm fine with a single battery. I am not a cameraman or film producer, so the flights are to film or photograph a specific moment. Until the fly-more kit is available again, I think I'll be fine.

First charge properly and update firmware. Read your manual and make sure you are aware of the (safety) rules for drones. Only then fly on an (open) field to be able to practice properly.

I made the switch from the DJI Mavic Air to the DJI Mini 3 pro. Compared to the Air, it makes a much nicer sound. The battery has also improved, but I'm really not going to get 34 minutes, I currently get 20-25 minutes. The drone is equipped with all functions that also occur in the more luxurious/heavier DJI drones. The camera quality is very good in my opinion. Ocusync 3.0 gave me a range of 0.7km in a high interference environment & 2.5km in low interference environment. Too bad that the "Fly more kit" or other accessories are not yet available anywhere. All in all a very nice drone of only 249g!
