Had the predecessor solo before this. Bought this without hesitation. Coffee is hot . No fuss . Quieter than its predecessor . Nice and compact. Minus: predecessor had a metal plate on top for cups. This is no longer included as standard. By the way, never used but makes device a bit more fun to see
