I came off an iPhone 7 and wanted a better camera and better battery life than a 5 year old iPhone. After much deliberation, I chose Samsung. Bought a Samsung A52s for both myself and my mother and both more than satisfied. Installing Android is a bit more work thanks to Samsung's bloatware and unfortunately not everything can be removed. On the other hand, the camera takes really nice pictures for a device in this price range. The Oneplus Nord oversaturates the colors which can make them too fake. The Samsung does that even better in my opinion. Thanks to the HDR function, every photo is beautifully colored and even backlight is filtered out well. Charging takes about 90 minutes with the supplied charger from empty (10%) to full, which is fine since with average use I can handle it again for 3 days and at least 2 days. The screen is 120 Hz and is really a beautiful screen, I didn't think the high refresh rate was important, but you really see it and it's worth it. At Samsung you now receive 4 years of updates, so you have to be safe until Aug 2025 and that is nice this time. The security of the phone consists of: pattern/code, fingerprint and facial recognition. The fingerprint scanner works well, although it is less fast than the iPhone 7 and I have turned off the facial recognition again, that does not work anymore. The biggest drawback is the size of the phone, it's really big to fit in your pocket. I notice that I now take the phone out by default and put it on the table so that it doesn't push into my stomach. But that's a thing with any phone these days if you want decent specs.

Previously had the S10e. Also a great device, but you don't make much use of all kinds of extra options. The A52S 5G is more than adequately equipped and has a nice, slightly larger screen. Also fits well in the hand and is very fast. Camera works great with excellent photos as a result. And that for half the price of the S-series.
