Description

In Resident Evil Village for the PlayStation 5, you'll go on an entirely new adventure. You can battle new enemies and use new moves to beat them. You can play this game with 1 player at most.

Completely new storyline
Experience survival horror like never before in Resident Evil Village, the 8th game in the genre-defining Resident Evil franchise. A few years after the gruesome events of the prized Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, a completely new storyline brings Ethan winters to an isolated snow-covered village, with a diverse cast of scary enemies. After a devastating meeting with Chris Redfield, the hero from the Resident Evil series, Ethan follows him in search for answers, but he ends up in a nightmare.

Intense action
Modern console technology combined with Capcom's patented RE Engine make for a gripping experience. This results in intense action combined with the signature survival horror gameplay of the Resident Evil series.

A new chapter in the Resident Evil storyline
This 8th chapter in the Resident Evil series continues the story of the popular Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. With the return of popular functions and the introduction of new elements, survival horror has never been this intense.

New console technology
The RE Engine combined with the technologies of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S result in very detailed graphics, advanced compelling audio, and little to no loading times, so the shady village and villagers come to life in first-person perspective.

Classic Resident Evil functions
Fans can recognize new things in Resident Evil Village which refer back to earlier Resident Evil games, like a merchant named "The Duke," who sells and buys items from the players, and recipes to make tools and customize weapons.

Familiar faces and new enemies
Chris Redfield from the Resident Evil series returns with seemingly sinister motives. Ethan will run into a number of new opponents who live in the strange village, all with their own unique way of attacking.

Evolution of fighting
In addition to attacking enemies, Ethan can block incoming attacks, or kick enemies away to win enough time to think about his next move, so you have to think strategically about what's the best way to survive the challenges ahead.

25th anniversary
As a thank you to all the fans, Resident Evil Village gives access to a free multiplayer experience called Resident Evil Re: Verse, coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. An all-star cast of Resident Evil characters will battle each other in deathmatch fights for 4 to 6 players at iconic location from the series.

Great story and gameplay, but definitely not scary

  • Weapon Upgrade Capabilities
  • puzzles
  • Not nearly as scary

Although the game starts off very scary, it quickly becomes casual. I sometimes played Resident Evil 7 with my butt squeezing, but 8 isn't nearly as scary. This game plays very nicely. Running has gotten faster (thank god) and weapon upgrades have gotten really cool through The Duke. Story is also well put together.
