According to our gimbal expert
With the DJI Osmo Mobile Combo you can record stable video images with your smartphone. This gimbal comes with tripod legs and a storage cover. The short, foldable hand grip ensures that you can easily store the Osmo Mobile 3. There are a number of control buttons on the grip, with which you can move the gimbal from top to bottom and from left to right. With the M button you turn your smartphone to take vertical shots, for example for portraits. In addition to the ActiveTrack function, with which you follow topics, the stabilizer also has hyperlapse, timelapse and panorama options. This allows you to easily capture beautiful images. The axes of the stabilizer are more sensitive in sport mode. That way you follow unexpected movements of athletes without problems.

I also own the previous generation, the DJI Osmo Mobile 2, so I can compare very well. This Osmo Mobile 3 is an improvement on basically every point and my negatives should also be seen as a bit of a hoot. But the fact that this Osmo Mobile is much easier to pack is extremely important. The previous one I left one at home because I didn't have a good place to keep it. You can basically fold these up and put them in a jacket pocket or any backpack. That was absolutely not possible with the previous one, so I had to take my camera backpack with me. Switching from landscape to portrait mode is also much better. With the Mobile 2 you had to go through at least 9 steps 1. Gimbal off. 2. Loosen a rotary knob. 3. Pull the holder firmly towards you. 4. Rotate the holder. 5. Release the other rotary knob 7. Retract the arm 8. Re-clamp and position your phone. 9. Restart the gimbal. With the Osmo Mobile 3... press the mode button twice. Finished! the only downside to this action is that resetting the gimbal to horizontal is different now. I haven't found that yet.... The new app, DJI MiMo, is also a huge improvement over DJI Go. Many new possibilities, much more stable and clear to use. Tracking is also not reliable enough yet, with fast movements the app loses its tracking. This was not very different in the Go app, by the way. Also, it will probably improve with the next update. One more plus, and this is a big one: "The device is cheaper than the previous generation!" . So no reason to go for the Osmo Mobile 2! Not even when it's discounted, the 3 is just better!

This is a top gym ball! As my first gym ball, this is the perfect combination for me. This gym ball is easy to operate and I really don't need to be adept at it to shoot great images! With the addition of a simple 'cold shoe' extension, I have already attached all kinds of accessories to the DJI Osmo 3, such as an external micro and LED lighting. Because of the extra tripod in this set, I also just put it down during a video chat...

my phone only fits without a (very thin) cover in the clamp. Too bad you have to remove your case every time. Stabilizing initially took quite a bit of effort. For a moment I feared that my iPhone XR was too heavy. After some searching on the web got the good tip (not from DJI itself) and now it goes smoothly. The follow me mode is super handy, as is the possibility to start the camera remotely with a hand signal. Slow motion and timelapse also work perfectly.
