Microsoft Surface Go - 8GB - 128GB

The Microsoft Surface Go is a great laptop (or tablet) for on the go or for students. If you know what you're getting into, the Surface Go is a great laptop. You have to keep in mind that this is not a Surface Pro in terms of performance, when I look at the build of the Go you see that Microsoft has downsized the Surface Pro. And with success! Because you would almost think it's the Pro. In terms of performance, it is a great laptop for everyday tasks such as surfing the Internet, Office and media consumption. The heavier programs such as Photoshop and Lightroom work fine, but you should not start on projects with a hundred thousand layers. So you can easily edit your holiday snaps on the Go. You can tell it's a Surface, and there are also some premium features in the Go like facial recognition and Tilt with the pen (not tested). It is a pity that the Go does not come with a Typecover because it is slightly less as a tablet because there are few apps and because Windows 10 is not completely suitable for touch. All in all, it's a great laptop and a slightly less good tablet! And I definitely recommend the Surface Go as a secondary device for on the couch or in school.

After much deliberation, I chose a 4Gig version.. so far very satisfied with it, coming from an IPad Air 2 you definitely notice that the Surface Go is faster, Windows Home (still in S mode) offers many more options if an iPad can do that. Also bought the black type cover, it types well. The speed of the 4Gig Go is anything but disappointing, everything works well, opens quickly and does exactly what I expect it to do. A satisfied user here!

After having worked on a Surface Pro for a long time to my full satisfaction and after having felt the device at Microsoft Inspire in Las Vegas last year, I was sold ... The Surface Go for me only has the advantages of the Surface Pro included combined with a slightly smaller model that is easy to handle as a tablet. To be fair, Windows 10 is not a Tablet OS, but it comes pretty close. Having now worked on Android tablets and iPads I have now found what I wanted ... a tablet pc with good performance and a decent build quality. The 8GB RAM, 12GB disk and the CPU are more than sufficient to serve as an on-the-go device. It's not a device you're going to do heavy graphical business with or heavy gaming or multitasking with, but it's not built for that! But basic browsing and office work... 10/10. Tip, get the go out of S mode and avoid Google Chrome (Chrome eats CPU)
