According to our hand mixer expert
Use the Philips Viva Collection Mixer HR3745/00 to make airy cakes or bread. The cone-shaped beater allows you to make smooth batter. The direct drive 3L bowl does the work for you combined with the beater, so you can keep your hands free. You decide how fast you beat the batter with the 5 different settings and turbo power function. While beating, the mixer remains stable and in place thanks to the suction cups. When you're done, you can detach the beater with the push of a button. No need to wash it by hand, as the beater is dishwasher-safe.

Super fine hand mixer, what else can I say! Especially considering the price, I really didn't expect to be so happy with it. I often make batter for cakes and the like and bake my own bread, so a good mixer is of great importance. This one is not inferior to the more expensive ones. It is very easy to use, without reading the manual you also know how everything works. Assembling and disassembling the parts is a piece of cake. This also applies to cleaning and storing them. There is a minimum number of buttons. One to disconnect the mixer from the stand, one to raise it and of course the buttons on the mixer itself (5 positions, turbo button and one to release the whisk/kneading hook). The five positions are perfect, they go from slow to fast and in between you can also use the turbo button to briefly 'give some extra gas'. The sound level is fine, the sound is not disturbing, I've experienced that worse with mixers. The bowl is very sturdy, in principle I don't have to stand by it when it mixes. The plastic bowl is just right in size and of course cannot fall apart. My previous bowl (harder plastic) had a crack, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. The whole thing feels solid. It can be quickly disconnected, the whisk/kneading hook clearly clicks into the openings and they stay in place, and the device itself is sturdy. It looks quite simple, but the quality is just good and it meets my requirements. I also don't mind the design, it's just a standard mixer without a lot of fuss or an expensive (breakable) bowl. I do wonder whether the plastic bowl will not discolor if you use, for example, dyes, but because I rarely use it myself, it is not a negative for me. In short: if you are looking for a good quality (hand) mixer that is easy to use and should not cost too much, then I can absolutely recommend this one. I don't need a more expensive one, it does the job just fine.

The mixer is easy to assemble. The dough hooks or whisks click easily into the device and you only have to put the bowl in it. The big advantage of this mixer is that the bowl rotates. This will mix everything well while you have your hands free. The only downside to this device is that the ingredients sometimes splash out of the bowl. This doesn't happen all the time, but if you add too much flour or anything else it can fly out. In general a nice device that mixes well. The lowest setting is enough for many recipes.

I've owned this mixer for a while and haven't come across anything that the mixer can't handle. From smooth mixing to kneading dough is no problem.
