GoPro HERO 5 Black

Been busy for 2 days now and as the owner of the Hero 3+ and 4+ I am very happy with this version. In my previous versions I didn't have a touchscreen and that is now very welcome. I went mtb-en with it and felt a lot lighter than the predecessor, but that is of course the reason that there is no need for a frame around it, which in turn entails a higher risk of breakage. The new voice command works well and is ideal if you do not have the gopro in your hand or have hands free. The new stabilizer works great and can deliver smoother shots than its predecessor, but a Gimbal is still required for the perfect stable shots. There is also now a linear photo mode that removes the fisheye lens. On one side, the fisheye is a gopro feature, but if you just want to take normal photos, this option is your best friend. There are plenty of things to talk about, but then this review becomes more of an article and the internet is a great place to learn the good stuff about this camera if you're eager to know. ;) In conclusion: It is a very nice camera from which you can get even more creativity and quality than its predecessors. If you want to buy an action camera, this camera is a very good choice.

After some hesitation, we decided to switch from the Hero4 Black to the Hero5 Black. The image quality of both devices hardly differs, at most in 'photomode' you can make a difference with the new options (RAW/WDR). Decisive for me was the Black version in combination with. a well-functioning touchscreen, the new photo options and never having to think about which housing you use (always waterproof). After a few days of trying, the touchscreen really works much better than on the Hero 4 Silver. Fewer clicks and swipes to set up your camera, very clear and clear screen. If you take a lot of photos with your GoPro, the new photo options are really a relief, you get so much more information from your photos. And the fact that you never have to worry about which housing to put in your bag is very nice, especially if you often mountain bike (like me) and the conditions can be surprising. Finally, the battery life has improved considerably and the GoPro charges faster in my opinion (you can see the % instead of 4 bars). The voice control is a nice extra that is very useful during mountain biking, so you can always keep your hands on the handlebars. So far, no downsides have been discovered, although it is a pity that certain accessories such as the Floaty can no longer be used with the Hero5 Black.
