I bought the soundbar because I wanted better (and especially fuller) sound with my recently purchased Sony Bravia 4K TV. The installation did not go as planned for me. I had sound via the optical cable, but with a delay compared to the image, and via the HDMI ARC connection I had no sound at all. Now I have them both in and it works perfectly. Don't ask me how, but it works, and that's the main thing. Plus, I don't have to use an extra remote now. The soundbar turns on when the TV turns on, and turns off in the same way.
