Logitech G13

What is this thing needed for?! That may be your first question with a gameboard, or whatever you want to call the G13. Although gaming with a normal keyboard already seems pretty nice, it doesn't even come close to gaming on a gameboard, especially this G13. The G13 has ergonomics in the first place. You can rest your hand on it like you can't on any keyboard. You also sit a little more to the left if, as most users do, you place the game board next to your regular keyboard. this, and the shape of the board, make for a very comfortable position. all buttons except perhaps G1 and G7 are within easy reach, as is the joystick. So you don't have to twist your arm to get to certain buttons. In addition, you also have a wonderful palm rest that makes long gaming sessions much nicer. The software of the G13 is perhaps the most important for this device. At first glance, this G-series Key Profiler program gives you a simple but effective user interface to configure some buttons, but it is much more than that. The screen above the keys can handle user-created programs, so there is a whole scene for this kind of thing. The G15's programs all work on it. In addition, macro functions are available for the moderately advanced user. But if you really want to go crazy, you can write a script. This is completely assigning all buttons via text, and with that you can really do the craziest things. But for most users, that won't be necessary. All in all, the G13 is the finest gameboard that, despite the high price, is worth every penny. You get used to gaming on this thing quickly (especially if you just use a WASD-like layout, then you instinctively know where what is) and the joystick can even be made analog, via some detours (search for PPJOY G13). The lighting can also be set well in terms of color and also per mode (there are three), so that you can recognize at a glance which one you are in. The possibilities are really bizarre. The device does what it's supposed to do, there is one small problem, I can't print the profiles, but I don't know if it's my PC or the Logitech software.

Where this G13 is mainly recommended for gamers, I use it for keyboard shortcuts / key combinations in Photoshop and Lightroom. Even setting it up is very easy and you can create your own profile for the different programs. Recommended.
