Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM

I bought this lens to complement the kit lens (18-55) and my 50mm. I was looking for something to capture everyday things easily and quickly and I preferred a lens with a fixed focal length. 24mm is perfect for crop sensor cameras because this roughly corresponds to 35mm on full frame. In the meantime I have been able to test the lens extensively and I am very satisfied with it. For portraits I stay true to my 50mm, but this lens remains standard on my camera for everything else. Manual focusing is not as smooth as hoped, but automatic is almost perfect. This lens can also be used indoors or in low light. A great lens for a great price, definitely recommended.

I bought this lens because I film a lot with my camera, this lens is also good for that because of the STM function. That's why I fell for this lens. And the lens certainly does not disappoint. It's really crazy to see what a beautiful image this lens gives when filming compared to previous lenses I've already used. Really great for a small price

Any novice should practice with this human for several months first. The focal distance corresponds to what our eye sees. The aperture of 2.8 gives more possibilities to put unimportant objects out of focus. As a result, this lens encourages me to film more with my 700D. When focusing at 2m at Av2.8, anything beyond 2.4m is already out of focus. If you then focus on 4m, what you had focused before is already out of focus. This can produce beautiful images. This pancake model takes up little space. If necessary, I leave the 18-55 at home, so that there is more room for the 10-18 and 55-250. The sharpness seems to me slightly better than the kit lens at 24. The vignetting is clearly noticeable at 2.8, but can be removed in-camera. I updated the 700D to firmware 1.1.4 for this. and then uploaded lens profile with Lens Registration Tool 1.3. In Lightroom, this required a manual upgrade from 5.7 to 5.7.1. Due to the delivery at our local collection point, we do not have to wait at home.
