More of expected

  • Sturdy material
  • Adapted for KitchenAid
  • Lots of accessories
  • Not easy to install

I bought this slow juicer because my husband wanted to take smoothies to work. I first wanted to buy a regular, independent slow juicer, because I didn't know how long I was going to make the juices and I didn't want to spend too much money. I've read some reviews of independent slow juicers but didn't think this one was good enough. Since I have a KitchenAid, I looked for the Slowjuicer of the KitchenAid, slightly more expensive but better quality. I'm very happy with my KitchenAid myself, so I didn't think it would be any different from the slow juicer. After ordering on CoolBlue, I received the slowjuicer at my door the next morning. The slowjuicer is relatively large, almost the same size as the KitchenAid itself and looks rather bulky on the kitchenaid (it takes up a large part of my kitchen island anyway). It takes about ten minutes to figure out how it all works. I tried several times to light it, to no avail. I went through every step but it didn't work. Apparently the lid was not in the lock properly (with me you really have to put a lot of force behind it (with wet hands it doesn't even work, my husband often has to help me)). One downside that I immediately noticed was that my kitchenaid mixer also spins when I want to use the slow juicer, which results in a lot of noise. If everything is right, the slow juicer separates the pulp well from the juice (you have several 'nets' that you can install where you can choose from a lot or little pulp. There is also a net for making sauce). What annoys me the most is that a lot of dirt/pulp remains in the machine, so you (especially with celery/spinach/red fruits,...) often have to stop to clean the machine in between to be able to continue properly. The cleaning afterwards is also a reasonable job, although everything can go in the dishwasher, I always do this by hand. There are a lot of parts that would make your dishwasher almost full, plus you can never remove the small membranes from the net with the dishwasher. Kitchenaid gives you a special toothbrush to clean the neatly, this is certainly used. Compared to my kitchenaid itself, I like this product a little less. My expectations were high to be honest because KitchenAid is a good brand and I paid a few bucks for it, unfortunately I'm disappointed.

This is much more than just a slow juicer!

  • makes good juice, little is lost.
  • more than slow juicing; Also suitable for making soups and sauces thanks to additional sieves.
  • stable construction during pressing
  • Putting it together for the first time is a bit of a puzzle. Once you've seen it, it's all obvious and easy

This slow juicer does exactly what you want it to do; slowly grinds, cuts and squeezes all the fruit and vegetables you put into it into a juice. The quite dry pulp comes out neatly on the other side of the device. The fact that the pulp is very dry indicates that little juice is lost during the process. This slowjuicer does more than just slowjuicing. For slow juicing, use the sieve that completely separates the pulp from the juice. Two extra sieves open up more possibilities. One of the additional sieves allows a small portion of the fine pulp to pass through. By using this sieve you can make smoothies or prepare soups (exit immersion blender and soup splashing around). The second extra sieve allows some more pulp to pass through. With the use of this sieve, sauces or jams can be made. With all its possibilities, this slow juicer is a device that goes far beyond the name slow juicer. I had my doubts about the construction: a heavy appliance for the kitchenaid. Wouldn't that swing a lot? Kitchenaid also lives up to its name here. During the slow juicing process, the entire construction remains stable. In fact; the structure itself barely moves. The slow juicer consists of many parts. Putting it all together for the first time is almost a mathematical puzzle. Once you've seen how it's done once, it's so simple and logical that the manual can be omitted the second time. Just be careful when putting on the lid; it must be turned by force through the safety lock. If you don't do this, the device will not start because the security is not enabled. It is impossible to touch the blades with your fingers while turning. This makes the device very safe to use. The safe disassembly of the used device can also be done safely. Well, and then cleaning it after use... As far as I understand, that is a challenge and a job with every slow juicer. The fact that the first part you encounter when unpacking the kitchenaid slow juicer is a kind of toothbrush does not bode well. In practice: the slow juicer can be taken very far apart, so that not many awkward corners with pulp residues remain. Rinsing the pulp residue under the tap takes some time, but is not difficult. The majority of the slow juicer can be pulp-free in this way. The sieves are an exception. In order to get all pulp residues away from here, the "toothbrush" is really needed. When everything has been rinsed, the parts can be washed or put in the dishwasher. There are no parts that are not dishwasher safe. The juice flow can be shut off with a tap. My experience is that this tap cannot be closed completely. A few drops do come out. If you want to keep your countertop clean, it is useful to put a glass or the like under it. Included with the slow juicer are two jugs for during use. These fit together so take up little space when storing. One of the two jugs can be closed with the supplied lid. Also included is a storage system for the different sieves. Kitchenaid thinks carefully about ease of use, which is again clear here. People who are looking for a slow juicer but don't have a kitchen aid food processor at home are really out of luck. This slow juicer is so much more than a slow juicer. Do you have a kitchen aid at home; then look no further at other slow juicers. The purchase price of this slow juicer is more than compensated for by the extra options and the ease of use that this slow juicer offers!

Ideal invention and affordable in price

  • The price, the slow juicer naturally runs on the Kitchenaid motor, so you don't have to buy a completely new device
  • 3 different strainers for juice, sauce and jam
  • Takes up relatively little space
  • Cleaning the very fine sieve, but: a special cleaning brush is supplied very neatly for this

The KitchenAid Slowjuicer is ideal if you already have a Kitchenaid. This option is many times cheaper than buying a completely new machine. The system is easy to assemble and the smallest sieve produces super fine juice. Cleaning up is a bit of a hassle, but I think this is the case with all slowjuicers. Just make sure you rinse everything immediately while it's still wet and don't let anything 'caking', then you're ready in 2 minutes. The very small sieve is more difficult to clean and that is why a small brush is neatly included. There are also two jugs, 1 for the pulp and 1 for the juice. Some additional tips: - It takes a while to find out which fruits and vegetables work well, one comes out more juice than the other and some somewhat sticky ingredients (such as banana, for example) are best mixed with something else and push with, for example, carrot to mix everything well to get a juicer. The best combinations and recipes are all easy to find after a bit of googling. - Sometimes you can reuse the pulp in, for example, a pasta sauce. For example, carrots produce a lot of pulp that is still edible. - Making your own tomato sauce with the sauce strainer is a must! - Thanks to the large jugs you can make a stock for the coming days (e.g. work in peace during the weekend so that you can quickly grab fresh juice during the week before you go to work!)
