Fast and good

  • Gigabit on 4 of the ports
  • Only 4 of the 8 ports are PoE ports

We bought this switch for our intercom system. We connected the intercoms to the PoE ports and the other devices to the sockets without PoE. The speed over the PoE ports is max. 100MBPS, but on the other ports there is just a Gigabit connection. Unfortunately, there are no mounting holes on the back, so you can't just hang it on your wall.

Perfect for a simple home network

  • simple and just works
  • quiet
  • compact
  • no PoE+

I had been looking for a switch with PoE for some time so that I could replace separate power supplies and PoE injectors - that's just a mess of wires and adapters. Initially I looked at silent L2 or L3 switching with PoE, but for my home that cost was actually unjustifiable. In the end I arrived at this TP-Link switch that is as affordable as it is simple. I don't need more than 4 ports with PoE, the thing is quiet and compact and is more than fast enough. It supplies power to 4 access points without any problem. The only possible drawback in the future is that PoE+ is not supported, but considering the price that is quite acceptable.
