What should you keep in mind when you switch from a hybrid to a fully electric heat pump?

A hybrid heat pumps works together with your gas boiler. The heat pump heats your house almost the entire year. On extra cold days, the boiler turns on to help. A fully electric heat pump only uses electricity. This means you no longer use gas, so you can heat your house sustainably.

• You no longer consume gas with a fully electric heat pump, so you save a lot on your energy bill.
• You emit less CO2 with heating your house.
• You only pay maintenance for your heat pump.
• Because you only consume electricity, you're no longer bothered by rising gas prices.

Do you have a hybrid heat pump and do you want to switch to fully electric? It's important to keep the following in mind:

• Make sure your house is properly insulated, with double-paned windows and floor and roof insulation, for example. That way, you don't lose any heat.
• A buffer tank or boiler take up more space. Make sure you have enough spare, for example in an empty room in the attic.
• A fully electric heat pump is a big investment. The costs depend on the model and the installation. With the subsidy and lower energy costs, you do earn back your investment faster.
