What determines the user-friendliness of an oven?

We assess the user-friendliness by looking at the specifications below:
- The cleaning method: manual or automatic cleaning
- The number of sensors: core temperature, weight, and/or humidity sensor
- Automatic cooking programs
- Automatic shut-off
- Telescopic rails: this allows you to slide baking sheets and racks out of the oven without tipping over
- Pre-heat quickly
- Defrost mode
- Timer
- Soft-closing door
High-end user-friendliness
If you want a user-friendly oven, we advice a version with high-end user-friendliness. Choose one with high-end user-friendliness. Most ovens in this range have a complete cleaning system. This way, you don't have to clean the oven by hand and it doesn't leave food rests in the fan or heating elements. These ovens also often have telescopic rails. This way, you can gently slide a baking sheet out of the oven to check of your cookies are done.
Mid-range user-friendliness
Many ovens in this range have automatic programs that select the right settings for your dish. They also often heat up very fast. This way, you don't have to wait a long time before you can slide your dish into the oven. How fast that is differs per oven and brand. On average, the oven heats up to 180°C within 5 minutes.
Basic user-friendliness
With an oven with basic user-friendliness, you compromise on useful functions that make the oven easier to use. Many of these ovens have a defrost mode to carefully heat up your food.
