What's the Metabo Ultra M 18V battery platform?
The Metabo Ultra M 18V battery platform is a collection of different Metabo products that all work with the same 18V battery. Do you already have a Metabo 18V battery at home? You can use it on your new Metabo 18V product. You can charge the battery with the same battery charger too. Please note that the 12V tools by Metabo are part of a different battery platform. This means you can't use the batteries from the 18V platform on 12V tools.
LiHD battery technology
Most 18V Metabo batteries work on the LiHD battery technology. With this, you can easily perform demanding jobs with your cordless tools. Thanks to this technology, the battery has powerful cells. The battery provides a power of 400 to 3200W, which allows you to perform more demanding jobs. Do you want to perform multiple jobs without having to stop in between? An extra battery is a good idea. That way, you'll always have a full battery at hand and you can continue the job without problems.
Cordless Alliance System (CAS)
You can't just use the Metabo Ultra M 18V battery and battery charger on Metabo tools, but also on more than 180 tools by other brands. That's because these batteries are part of the Cordless Alliance System, also called CAS. This means you can use 1 battery and battery charger for tools by different brands.
Lots of choice between battery capacity
The Metabo 18V Ultra M Volt batteries are available with different amperage, like 2.0, 4.0, 5.5, 8.0, or even 10A. The amperage indicates the battery capacity. If you use a 4.0A battery in a drill, you can drill for twice as long as with a 2.0A battery. Even though the capacity of some of the Metabo 18V batteries differs, they are all part of the same battery platform.
