What's MagSafe?

MagSafe is a technology from Apple to connect accessories to your iPhone 12 or newer models. As a result, your case and wireless charger stay in place. On top of that, MagSafe wireless chargers charge your iPhone extra fast. In addition to cases and chargers, there are other accessories such as card wallets. You can read what you can do with MagSafe here.

This is how MagSafe works

This is how MagSafe works

MagSafe works with magnets. There's a round magnet in new iPhone models and in MagSafe accessories. This allows you to firmly attach accessories to your iPhone. For example, your phone case will stay firmly in place and your iPhone won't accidentally slide off your wireless charger. Thanks to NFC, your smartphone recognizes other Apple certified products. For example, you'll see an animation when you connect your MagSafe charger. The iPhone 11 or older models aren't suitable for MagSafe accessories.

MagSafe wireless chargers

MagSafe

MagSafe wireless chargers charge suitable iPhone models 1.5x as fast as normal chargers. Chargers without MagSafe deliver up to 7.5W power, charging up to 50% takes 1.5 hours. With a powerful 15W MagSafe charger, charging up to 50% only takes 1 hour. Thanks to the magnet, the charger is always placed correctly and you can easily get the maximum speed. You'll only find this new fast charging technology from Apple in certified MagSafe chargers. Other 15W chargers never get that speed. MagSafe fast charging only works with the iPhone 12 and newer models, not with older iPhone models.

MagSafe phone mounts

You can safely read your navigation or notifications on your iPhone while on the go with a MagSafe phone mount. Mount the phone mount on the dashboard, windshield, or air vent of your car. You can easily attach your iPhone to the mount magnetically. You can view your navigation both horizontally or vertically according to your liking. Do you want to be able to charge your iPhone wirelessly at the same time? Choose a MagSafe phone mount with wireless charging.

MagSafe power banks

Charge your iPhone while you're on the go with a MagSafe power bank. Useful, if your iPhone is empty and you aren't near a socket. You can attach the MagSafe power bank onto your iPhone magnetically. That way, you're sure it's always charging. With a smaller MagSafe power bank, you can continue to use your iPhone while charging. You can charge wirelessly, so you don't have to deal with a mess of cables. Wireless charging isn't as fast as wired charging though.

MagSafe cases

MagSafe case

A MagSafe case protects your iPhone from damage and works together with different MagSafe accessories well. You can attach MagSafe accessories onto these cases securely. Your wireless MagSafe card wallet or wireless charger stays firmly in place. With cases without a MagSafe magnet, your accessories aren't attached as securely. MagSafe cases are often back covers. They protect the back and the sides of your iPhone.

MagSafe card wallets

With a MagSafe card wallet, you'll always have your cards at hand. In most card wallets, you can keep up to 3 cards. For example, you can bring your bank card, OV chip card, and driver's license. You attach the MagSafe card wallet onto the back of your iPhone magnetically. This works best if you have a MagSafe case. Did you lose your Apple original card wallet while on the go? You can see where the card wallet is in the 'Find My' app on your iPhone. That way, you'll always quickly find your card wallet again.
